For those of you who are homebound or up at the wee hours of the morning on the DAY BEFORE HALLOWEEN as well as the early morning on HALLOWEEN DAY (depending on your time zone), NASA's new SpaceX Crew-3 Mission will present an online viewing of them taking off. Keep in mind that this schedule may be based on a different time zone than yours (such as the night before Halloween or later on Halloween Day, etc.).
Here's the URL typed out, for more information about the event: What You Need to Know about NASA’s SpaceX Crew-3 Mission | NASA Quote:

Wonder why they're taking off in the middle of the night. Do they usually do that?

![]() Not sure if they usually do that. I thought it was weird, too. They usually do the early morning or mid-morning hours, I think. Maybe it's because they are closed to the public viewing the takeoff or something, so they decided to make it more of an online event. But still. Who would want their children staying up super late to watch this event? This would be great for the kiddos, too. I'm a night owl, so I didn't think of the timing at all. Good observation! ![]() |

Maybe they want to observe things at night this time? I don’t know. Probably some weird science thing that only makes sense to experts.

I tried to log on last night, and it then bumped me up to November as their online date. I thought they said Oct. 31. So I'm super confused now.

I’m having online issues as well this morning. I tried ordering some Halloween donuts from Krispie Kreme this morning and the website is crashed or something.
These Covid and increase in demand issues suck. I was able to get some good seat theater tickets back in July for this December but that was when Covid was still bad and when they thought things were going to get a lot worse instead of better.

Oh dear. Sorry to hear about that Mountaindewed. The donuts sound delicious. I hope you are able to get them. And I hope you have a Happy Halloween!

Yeah they have a drive thru but I don’t think it’s worth it. I was once in a drive thru for 45 minutes.I’ll drive by though just in case.
I hope you get to see your space launch. I’m guessing unless some super famous person does one they will all be online from now on. I don’t know though.

Thank you, Mountaindewed. I'll check back later tonight, just in case the time was off. Otherwise, I'll wait for the November 2 one. I'm not sure if Jeff Bezos made his way to outer space, but I would not watch that. For a person who makes that kind of money and doesn't pay taxes, I just can't support him or his businesses anymore. I'm sure the internet would break if there were famous people taking off to outer space though - especially if they funded their own private space rockets. Only the mega rich could do something like that, and I could probably see them doing something like that.

Jeff Bezos did make it just past the Earth's atmosphere and I think for less than a day. I didn't watch it though.

I thought Jeff’s ship was in space for like 11 minutes, no joke.
I did get the donuts. The drive thru line wasn’t too bad. I accidentally ordered the wrong ones though but I realized it right before I made it up front. But I had to pull around again instead of just going backwards because a lady was behind us who ordered a whole dozen of the Halloween donuts and some other stuff but luckily I got what I wanted. I only wanted 1 enchanted cauldron donut but my mom always makes me get one for my brother when holiday donuts are out. So I got 2. But the grocery store websites inventory was not correct. The whole point of why I went out of my house this morning in the first place was to do specific grocery store shopping not to buy donuts. What a mess these online things are. My mom is ordering Christmas presents now because the experts are saying things are going to get real bad for the holidays.

UPDATE: For those interested in watching NASA's SpaceX takeoff, the one scheduled for Halloween has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 3, 2021, due to weather concerns.
There is still time to register for the online event. A revised thread has been created since I wasn't able to update and edit the original post, which is now outdated and may cause others to overlook this event they could still register for. Last edited by SprinkL3; Oct 31, 2021 at 07:21 PM. |

And I hope you all are able to get your Christmas shopping done well ahead of time. Indeed, online shopping can be a hassle these days. That's all I do is online shopping for package or contactless door deliveries. Most of the time, they get my orders right. However, sometimes, they get my orders completely wrong, or they deliver it accidentally to the wrong place, or they pick expired or soon-to-be expired items instead of items that would normally last at least a couple of weeks (had I picked them myself). To alleviate these mishaps, I've utilized any section for commenting with instructions for EVERY ITEM plus the overall delivery instructions on how to ring me to get buzzed in and where to go from the front door to the elevator to my floor and then to my apartment - as if I were talking with a kindergartener. It sometimes takes that level of instruction for contactless door deliveries, unless the delivery person is protesting contactless deliveries and mask-wearing (such as was the case with my past orders in this area from two distinct companies that I no longer do business with). Indeed, because of many reasons, there will be delays in deliveries, including contactless door deliveries and mail-order package deliveries, according to various news media outlets. |

Hi NASA fans! I created a new thread and requested that admin close this thread because of the date in the title that I couldn't change. Because NASA kept changing the date, I decided to start a new thread to just build upon - without dates in the title, but rather dates in the comments.
All of NASA events going forward and the discussions created by us can be found in this new thread "NASA Events!" Hope to see you there! |
