I don't think there is one. I can talk with Doc John about possibly starting one if you feel it would be helpful.

I haven't seen such a group, but I agree with you.

I was thinking of asking a question sort of like sarahsweets. I'd be curious to learn if you know what is causing yours and how it presents. I have read a bit about tinnitus in the past. Very often it is related to physical hearing-related issues, like sarahsweets hints at. However, there can be cases (other than psychosis) when people hear things that don't exist. In my case, I had a good one and a half year period of non-psychotic auditory "hallucinations", primarily musical but then they morphed into other forms. I'll say that that period did pass. Though I may never be 100% sure of their cause(s), I have my theories. For at least the ones I had.

Hi

I have some hearing loss and have had it mildly for years on and off but recently it has got to bad I've had to have the hearing aid in 24/7 to get relief from it as it has been so loud and constant.

I do have hearing aids and they do have a Tinnitus program on it, but I didn't usually wear my hearing aids constantly at home and it was never this bad!

I have discovered I may have an iron deficiency so have bought some supplements to see if that would decrease the volume a bit. I really hope they arrive soon as some things lately have taken 2-3 weeks to arrive due to pandemic etc.

I can't cope with TV or music/noise on constantly due to the autism, so would often enjoy just the silence and being able to draw or paint or sit outside at sunrise just enjoying the peace.. that's hard to do when you haven't slept for several nights cos you have a constant 'fire alarm' going off in your head or feeling like a steam train running through your head at night every time you turn the TV off and try to get to sleep!

I guess if there's enough people on here with Tinnitus a seperate area would work?

Currently I have mild symptoms of tinnitus in my left ear and it’s low level buzzing noise. It started with my ear feeling plugged up and used ear drops that help ear wax soften. Also get TMJ symptoms sometimes mostly on left side of my jaw so maybe related.

There is a link between TMJ and tinntius.

If its TMJ related it can change pitch when you change position of your neck or mouth.
Thanks for this!

I have mild tinnitus. It gets really bad if I take too many fat soluble vitamins like A E and D. I cut out the A and E and now only take D. 2000 IU a day is OK, but not 5000.

I've had tinnitus since I was roughly 6 years old and I learned to cope with it for the most part in that first night. Its a high pitched bieping sound, but I only hear it when I try to listen for it and when it changes in tone or pitch. I'm sorry to hear yours is that bad and I do hope iron will get you some relief.

Also if I take aspirin more than a day or two in a row it can cause tinnitus and so can really loud music.

Ugh I get it. My ear drum ruptured like 5 years ago, and I've had permanent constant high pitch ringing in my ear ever since. It was hard to deal with at first but I learned to tune it out for the most part after a few months. But sometimes I really miss quiet.

yeah I have an hearing aid with a Tinnitus masker program.

Also have Apple airpods but because right ear has hearing loss I have to have it louder before I can hear any tinnitus sounds so its then too loud in the left side, so can only use one side at once.

Unless anyone knows if you can adjust the volume individually for each airpod on the airpods pro model?

Sometimes I prefer the airpod cos it has noise reduction so can reduce environmental noises whilst playing the Tinnitus noises whereas the hearing aid amplifies them (even in the tinnitus program so it can be used as both).
