I'm back as an official student again! I took a hiatus after dealing with mental health issues and the loss of my home. But now I'm ready to start classes again!

I have 15 credits left, and this semester I registered for Medical Terminology and Intro to Abnormal Psychology. I'm so excited!

Abnormal Psychology is actually a "fun" class for me--just an elective I need, not required, but I absolutely love psychology and it's a class I have been wanting to take for a long time. The one required course I need is actually a choice of either math/science/computer science, but I'm going to take it either in summer or fall. I am hoping to take all of the remaining courses in the summer.

WOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Wow, that sounds great. I wish you only the best. Psychology is a subject I have always been interested in too. It is wonderful that you are bouncing back from the misfortunes you suffered. It is very inspiring.

Very cool! I really enjoyed college. I also had to take a break to deal with mental health issues, but I was able to return and graduate. So glad you are able to do that.

I am looking into occupational therapy, and my college has an OT assitant program partnered with another college.

I still really want to work with the elderly, and there's so many people an OT can work for and for different purposes. The problem I have is I need to be careful with my back, and caregiving is very hard on the body, and I would like to stay away from personal care and making life or death decisions like what a nurse has to make. There's other reasons I decided not to do nursing, but I still do want to work in geriatrics and in the medical field.

That's awesome that you're going back. Good luck with it. OT sounds good. I know when I was in rehab, we had an OT who was just excellent, and the hospital I work in has a lot of OT's.

OT is a great career. You can also work in school setting.
