Just a thread about fruit. What’s your favorite?

Normally my go to fruit is bananas and blueberries, especially when I have them in oatmeal or plain Greek yogurt. But lately I’ve really developed a taste for apples. I just eat them by themselves. They never were my favorite. But lately I started eating them and they’re so good and crisp and juicy and sweet and tart. They’re my new favorite. It’s weird, apples were always the I’ll eat it if I have to but not something I ever would seek out. Around this thanksgiving I started eating them and then I went grocery shopping yesterday and bought a huge bag of them, I was craving something sweet tonight so instead of eating candy etc I took an apple out and ate it and it was perfect. Cold, crisp, sweet.

I also love mango. Those are probably my favorite.

But honestly all fruit is good. Mango, apples, bananas, oranges, watermelon, all the berries, pomegranate, grapes, melons etc its all so refreshing.

I love every fruit I can think of too. I've never liked apples much but have been learning to eat them. I've been peeling them and dipping them in caramel dip to help make them easier to eat (I don't know why that works). Hopefully I can slowly wean off the caramel fairly soon. This current bag of apples is really sweet so hopefully I can get off the caramel while I have this bag.

I actually love all fruit, except bananas. I can't stand bananas.

But as for other fruit, my favourite thing is eating fresh fruit when it's in season throughout the summer and fall. In my opinion there's nothing better than fresh, local fruit.

Absolutely will NOT eat bananas except in ice cream or pudding.....all other fruit is great. I prefer it fresh in season like peaches, nectarines. Apples need to be cooked/baked & no skin just cause they are hard to eat with no teeth. Grapes I love but love them best frozen. Sometimes have a bowl of frozen ones sitting in the freezer to grab a handful when I crave something sweet. My favorite berry is raspberry & reasberry anything (good with chocolate too) Mango is my all time favorite & I actually puree chunks & cook with it to add good flavor. Watermellon is a great summer favorite. Tastes great grilled too....brings out even more sweetness.

I don’t mind fruit but I don’t eat enough of it. I simply just don’t really buy it. I do like melons the most.

I didn't used to eat it at all but now I try to eat it once or twice a day. My doctor is on my case about eating better, and fruit is supposed to be so healthy, so....

My favorites are pears, bananas, peaches, apples, and grapes. Honeycrisp apples have a sweet/tart taste I love, also Cosmic Crisp...I think that's the name. I like topping my (cold) cereal or oatmeal with raisins or dried cranberries.

Also love BLACKBERRIES and blue berries, but I haven't bought them fresh in years because they come in tiny baskets with the price tripling. I get frozen ones and they keep so long in the freezer.

I like watermelons but they are too heavy for me to carry and my frig is too small too.

Although fruits are sweet, they aren't "rich" like chocolate so if I really crave chocolate, I have to eat it. Fruit can't substitute for it, sadly.

Good topic, BlueBird.

I like most all. I suppose my top contenders are strawberries or peaches or blackberries, but only when they are really good. Peaches and blackberries aren't always quality.

My husband adores fruit. I more like them. I'm even more of a vegetable fanatic. I often say "I've never met a vegetable I didn't like." I can't say the same for fruit, though most have never tasted durian fruit or other tropical exotics.

As tomato is actually a type of fruit, if included in that category, that is my absolute favorite.

I was thinking that & tomatoes are my go to on so many of my foods & summer tomato sandwiches are a must have especially the home grown kind (mine or other farmers around me)

Good post, Blue Bird!

I'm the way you've been about apples with bananas. I never cared much for bananas, but lately I'm enjoying them. I put them in my plain yogurt or oatmeal with some honey. I also like blueberries for that!

Grapes, watermelon...maybe I'll purchase some in season apples. I do love apples.
