why do we use flowers to represent love. They eventualy die.
Does that meen love always eventualy die's off.
Why can't we use something that last longer like.
what lasts longer then flowers but can still represnt love.

I have no clue, in my opinion they are overpriced for Valentines Day and it is a waste of money. I would much prefer a living plant.

You know how I look at it? A flower wont last forever so you must enjoy it while you can. A rose dies much faster but seems so much more beautiful than other flowers thats why we buy them even though we could buy some cheap flowers that outlive the rose. It seems also like the shorter the life of anything, the more you want to get out of it and enjoy it. What do you think of that explanation?~?!

flowers Ok, I have a rule, my husband is not really good about following it and this year is no exception. I LOVE CARNATIONS. I'd rather have a single carnation to a dozen roses any day of the week. If you're going to buy me flowers, buy me the kind I like!

So I have this perfectly lovely arrangement of flours and the other kinds, lillies, roses, and flowers I have no clue what they are out number my carnations 4 to 1!

They might be a "cheap" flour, but I love them, and they smell heavenly!

I love getting flowers.....and yes they do die off, but I don't look at it as a comparrison to the love that is behind the giving of flowers.

I have a cute story about my aunt and uncle. My aunt LOVES to get flowers and OFTEN. So in order for that to happen she calls her favorite florist and orders the flowers to be sent to my Uncle at his place of employment. On the card reads "Bring these home to your loving wife OR ELSE!"

flowers It works like a charm.....he walks in the door with a lovely bunch of flowers, exactly what my aunt wanted and they are both happy flowers

nita, flowers can be a symbol for many things, even our States use a homegrown flower symbolically.

Representing love, some people use jewelry, others give candy, and cards or poems, and many just plant kisses.

So, it depends on ones customs or traditions or impulses or finances but because one doesn't get flowers, it doesn't mean they aren't loved.

Flowers are a lovely presence in the home, so uplifting, colorful, beautiful, organic, and fragrant (mostly)...I buy them for my home all the time, plus I have flowers growing outside during certain times of the year.

Maybe I love myself and my home, and flowers just blooming fragrant accents this for me. Or maybe I just love flowers.

peace
