...I'm not exactly sure how being avoidant and being histronic can coexist with eachother, considering being histronic means that you want to be the center of attention, and being avoidant means that you are painfuly shy and have realativly low self-esteem "Personality Disorder Test"

But I was reading about avoidant persoanlity disorder, as well as histronic, and it's almost scary how well I match up to them.

In all the years I have dealt with mental health professionals, and for all of them I've seen, inpatient and out, not ONE has ever dx'd me with ANY personality disorders. Nor do I really fit any of these. But it was amusing anyway. "Personality Disorder Test"

Yes, it was an amusing test. I don't think of myself as having a personality disorder, and my test results seemed to fit with my self-image:

Paranoid: Low
Schizoid: Moderate
Schizotypal: Moderate
Antisocial: Low
Borderline: Low
Histrionic: Low
Narcissistic: Low
Avoidant: Moderate
Dependent: Moderate
Obsessive-Compulsive: Moderate

Kaika: The two categories you mentioned Histrionics and Avoidance do go very well together. It is because of one that we have the other.

I am shy and do not feel comfortable around people. It is not because I do not want to be among them. It is because I do want to be among people and want to be noticed, but I don't feel comfortabel because I lack the social skills to do it. I am screaming to be noticed as a member of the "group" but I don't know how to do it because I am shy.

I have the same two categories.
