Today I went job-shopping... For my very first job.
I'm a little too particular about where I am willing to work. I don't want to work in food, and that's where most kids my age find jobs.

But me... I want to work at GameStop. So imagine me, a 5'4" 16-year-old girl, walking into four different locations with my mom, looking for my dream job.

And we had such good luck! The first two managers said they were hiring and they'd let me know. The third manager gave me an interview on Friday! And the place where I'd love to work because it's five minutes away even called me back to ask for references (I don't have any employment references, so I left it blank).

I never believed I'd have such luck! I was still thinking about other places where I'd be willing to work, totally expecting nowhere to be hiring.

It would be amazing if my first choice for a job was ACTUALLY my first job.

That sounds great. Good move taking your mom along! They know it's okay with her ahead of time.

I think it'll go well.
I'm reflecting on how things went at the one close to home.
The manager there seemed impressed by my cover letter. Job Hunting

Yep, and now I have an interview next Tuesday with the manager closest to home. Which is perfect, because the Friday one will be like practice for the job interview I REALLY want to land.

He called and said he'd "definitely" like to talk to me. I'm so excited! Job Hunting

Haha, yeah. I have a friend who thinks I should work at a restaurant with him... And another friend who wants me to be a shampoo girl at her mom's salon!
...No thanks! I want the 15% employee discount, since no matter where I work, my money will be going there!

So I think I did very well in my very first interview today. Job Hunting
I was comfortable, so that helped. And the manager and I both like the book "A Clockwork Orange." Job Hunting

And just after I got out, I got a call from a THIRD GameStop manager who wants an interview next Thursday! I'll be an expert at interviews at this rate.

Congratulaitons on trying to find your first job. I am not sure if you are in the United States, but there is a program in some states called Dress for Success in which clothes are donated from stores and given for free to people just starting a new job, and they allow the clients 7 outfits and shoes and accessories for the job. You just need a letter from your employer that you are working, and you can contact Dress for Success for an appointment and they will help clothe you for your job in business suits or whatever is needed for your job. Take care and best wishes. Soidhonia

Thanks for the tip!

I may have to ask about it, because...

I got a job offer! Job Hunting Very first interview; very first offer!

The manager told me in the interview that he didn't really have positions avaliable at the moment, but he figured college kids would be going home for the summer. Psh! Screw that!
He called me just now saying he and his two subordinates think it'd be great to have another employee and that judging by the interview I'm "definitely" capable of working there.

I'm just so excited right now. Forgive me for going on like this, I'm sure it's not that interesting. Job Hunting

Of course it's interesting. Your first job is always exciting, especially if it's at a place you really want to work.

Hope everything goes awesomely.
