Well, when we took our school trip to Montreal/Quebec, I bought this little piggy bank...well, I kinda discovered AFTER I put money in it that the hole in the bottom is too small to get out things like quarters.
So what do I do? The answer is simple: instead of breaking the piggy when I need the money, I'll "Give the piggy bank a c-section!" ![]() |

Or, you could only put in folded paper money small enough to fit through the hole, LOL.
What "shape"/character is the piggy bank? Is it a piggy or someting else (in other words, why did you buy that piggy bank?)?

LOL. That amuses me greatly. I've never had a piggy bank... but interesting about giving it a C-section. But smashing it when its got a lot of money in it might be fun too

![]() Well, oh course, it makes sense. Piggy-banks are for saving money! Once it goes in, it is being saved.....It can't come out except for in desperate need when you are forced to smash it. ![]() |

LOL, that is so funny. When I was a kid I had one like that and I just kept telling myself that when it got too full I could just break it! Of course I couldn't wait that long and ended up breaking it when it was just half full!

Now I want a piggy bank! I had one when I was a child...a clear tannish glass pig. It had no hole...you had to shake the money back out the top slot! which was a lot of work! I also had a little dime bank that was made like a metal cash register, and tallied what you had saved. It would probably be valuable collectible today.
I've looked for those clear glass pigs and I can't find one. ![]() |

Well, I tried getting the money out today and managed to get everything out but the quarters and nickels. My brother got them out though by using the top slot. I better make a note to myself never to put a quarter or nickel in there and to fold the dollars properly so they are easier to get out. Sure, my brother could help me, but there is no garuntee.

We never had "piggy" banks so to speak.
We'd take an old mason jar and use that! Or some coffee can and cut a slit in the lid...we didn't have enough money for the real thing so we always improvised! ![]() |
