OK, so this may be normal for some people, but for me I couldn't stop laughing.
See, I am from San Francisco California originally and I just moved to Idaho late last year. Well I was sitting here watching Star Trek and when I looked outside two people were riding by ON HORSES!!!
OMG, I have never seen horses being ridden on the cement street. I mean, there are areas in "town" where there are horses in pens, but I have never seen such a sight as I have today! OMG I am holding my gut.
Sorry, maybe it isn't so funny to some, but to me it was hilarious and I really needed that laugh badly!!!
Laughing SO HARD!!

I love when that happens, something so unexpected because of our background or experience.

Wow, you'd die where I live, where there are Amish people in 2-person metal buggies (that they made) being pulled by horses all the time.

Not everywhere has excellent public transportation. Laughing SO HARD!!

I have seen it on TV, but never in person. It is just such a trip to see. My first reaction was to run outside and ask "May I pleeeeeeease, pet your horsie?" but then I didn't want to seem like a major dork!
I just loooove them, but I never really get to see them just out and about.

I would love to see the Amish and their buggies!!!

let me tell you...with the gas prices going higher every day I am really considering buying a horse and wagon! I am dead serious! I can hitch up the horse and go to town! all I need to do it put a reflective triangle on the back.

I miss that. We used to have horses come past our house all the time (before we moved - well, the last two places, and others before, too). There were cattle drives and sheep being herded down the street at times too. Our pear tree got eaten by stray horses. We found somebody's bull in our hay stack once too, at about 3 in the morning. He stopped to look in the window on the way past the house. One of my goats used to let herself in the back door if we forgot to put her back in her pen when after giving her some extra time to eat her grain. We just have a few goats left now, and chickens, and a llama. Most of our neighbors say they enjoy watching them.

Yes, well, a man here in WV, in protest of gas prices, is riding his horse to work. It made the local TV news. I don't see horse here in my town, but up on "the hill" it is common to see people riding their horses.
I was just watching a movie today...King Arthur, on one of the cable channels, and thought to myself how magnificent the horse is! Such an animal. I'm skeerd of them, though, and have never ridden one!
