I found one of my favorite smells today. I was feeling domestic today and I roasted a head of garlic today. It made my apartment smell heavenly. Of course my breath doesn't smell too good now due to the fact I made garlic chicken for supper but squishing some of the roasted garlic into the chicken between the chicken and the skin. I also added some of the roasted garlic to the rice I made so its a good thing it was just me and Tyger tonight LOL. Probably why he's outside at the moment LOL. But it smelled really good and I found out its a smell I really like.

I made roast chicken and potatoes with garlic tonight too. It was yummy.

Garlic is very good for you -- it is supposed to be a natural antibiotic.

Hi Janniebug,

I was just reading your post and it made me remember of an old art teacher I had in college.

His saying was:

There are three kinds of people in the world: those who can't stand Picasso, those who can't stand Raphael, and those who've never heard of either of them.

Off the subject, I know- but it's funny what we remember by a simple saying Something I found out today.

I enjoy the smell of garlic as well. When we lived out west there was a garlic / onion processing plant nearby. They whole town smelled of garlic when they were processing it!

I wish I could tolerate the smell of garlic but I can't. As soon as I smell just a touch of garlic, my stomach flips. I think it comes from the kinds of seizures I had as a child. Just before a seizure would hit, I had this funny sort of garlicky smell/taste in my mouth.

I am certain teh meal though was quite delicious!

I do love the smell of a good garlic cooking....& the good flavor....

Personally, as far as a smell that I love filling my house, I have purchased the oil scents from Bath & Body & love the Christmas time Scent of the pine tree.....the real pine tree scent like walking through the woods.......when my house is filled with that scent, I get a warm relaxed feeling that puts me into another world.

Ew Eskielover, I don't know what it is but I can't stand the smell of pine. Maybe it was all the wood that I had to haul when I was a kid. Cedar now that's a different story.

The one thing that I cannot tolerate the smell of is Cloves. It makes me ill, I must be allergic. And every year when the kids were small their mother's day project was a orange studded with cloves. I had to ew and ah, all the while fighting the urge to be sick. As soon as they were in bed, they went in a ziplock bag in the trash. Hidden of course as not to hurt the kids feelings.
