Very interesting picture in fact.. Like the other wall is supposed to be an interior wall and the wall on the right is an exterior wall.

I think you are on to something there. There is probably a "don't walk" sign on the other side. Like those narrow bridges in some rural areas, only one can go at a time.

if you look closely it is a narrow stairway, though wide enough for one average person to walk as long as not too claustraphobic. it is just perspective that makes the bottom look so much more narrow, count the floor tiles.
