Drinking that is.......... I quit

I had quit for 15 years and started back about 5 years ago. I just am tired of it, it gets in the way of a lot of activities. I wouldn't dare try to drive, even after one drink and my DW doesn't drink so I don't like to drink alone, no matter what George Thorogood (sp) says.

I don't go to AA, because I'm not alcoholic and I done it before without it. Has anyone else quit because it is inconvenient?

I'm not saying I quit altogether, just as a regular weekender.

I still enjoy the occasional cigar.... I quit

That's great! I can kind of relate. I started my freshman year of college, 5 years ago, because everyone else was doing it. And I did managed to find stuff I liked to drink. Well, because I wasn't used to drinking heavily or at all, I got drunk quite frequently. Fortunately, I saved the drinking for the weekends and it didn't get in the way of school stuff. But, I liked drinking because it made me more outgoing, and fun. When I went home on school breaks, I ended up sort of quitting cold turkey because I was underage, and my parents do not approve of that. However, as I have gotten older, I realize an occasional drink or 2 is okay. I don't need to drink to the point where I'm completely wasted anymore. It just doesn't seem that important anymore.

No one could be more proud of you than me!!! You know that you don't need to drink and it does overshadow your greatness when you drink too much.
You know my dad was killed by a drunk driver....

The occasional cigar smells great on you. I quit

You will do just fine!
