Took a couple pics of our full peach trees!! They are about ready to pic in a couple days. Thought they were ready by looking at them. But they are hard yet . So give them a couple more days to ripen up and I'll be busy putting them up for the freezer!! Along with the abundance of zuchini, yellow squash and I'll be making freezer slaw and freezer pickles too!

This is the Alberta which is a golden yellow peach Like your most used to seeing.

How bout them peaches!

And this is a Georgia White, its more white than yellow but still has some yellow to it.

Boy! You have a job ahead of you! Having preserved my peaches in one way or another, and from ONE tree, I don't envy you one bit!

I've still got quite a few in the freezer to make cobbler with, plus two quarts of jam!

I'd rather can, myself, but have fun freezing! How bout them peaches!

You puttin' up any pickles? My bread and butter ones turned out YUUUUUM!

We're in the process of planning our winter garden. Can't wait! How bout them peaches!

Oh, man, your own tree! I still remember 1963ish when I was in 7th-8th grade in Southern California and went to summer school and there was a yard with an apricot tree overhanging its fence and I use to steal fresh apricots. I fell in love and have been searching for apricots that tasted like that since (and never found them).

THanks everyone for your compliments and comments!!! After not having any last year.. I'm delirously happy to have some this year. And totally amazed that with the drought we are having right now that they are the nice size they are too! Most of them are a good handful!! I told hubby no cooking tomorrow night. Its pizza night!! Oh Wow! They look delicious. It's the first time I see a peach tree, they sure don't grow here in Quebec Ca. A fresh peach must be soooooooooooo yummy! You are a really good gardener.

Oh Wow - I've never seen a peach tree before. I love peaches - they must be awesome just picked and freshly rippenned. Good luck with all your preserving. I have very fond memories from childhood helping my Mom, make jams, pickles, canned preserves, and freazing stuff every summer / fall.

You know, this reminds me of the time when mom and I discovered that our neighbords apple tree didn't grow crab apples, but they were actualy just small- but tasty! apples. We were going to go by his/her house sometime and ask if we could snag their apples otherwise they'd just waste away like they have every other year before How bout them peaches! we have an apple tree at dad's house, but he insists they are crab apples, considering he's lived here his entire life...I take his word for it. But it's amazing around here how much berries and apples and such just grow wild around here!
