He's got cancer.
I am scared and worried.
I joined the school because of his teaching.
He is a buddhist and a delightful man.

((((Ganesha)))) perhaps if you can visit him, he could share some of the peaceful spirit he must have, even at this juncture in life? TC

My sincerest sympathies to both of you. Dealing with such serious illness in people we care about is very difficult. So sorry.

Hi, I know what you mean.
I'm trying to pace myself as well.
I dearly love my art teacher but I know it would be so much worse if this was my T.

What's one thing that you especially like about your T?

My Therapists, both men and women, have been so dear to me.
My tenderness for them rests in a special place in my heart.

Something things I find special about my art teacher...
He's kind to all and encourages our exploration into new ideas. He is available to everyone and fair. But the thing I love the best, the very best is the way he talks about Art. His language about a line, a curve, a color....well he takes me to another level of understanding of art. A unique way of describing art, looking at a work of art, approaching the blank canvas and I find him delightful in his exuberance over each of our works of art in class.

My thoughts are with you during this hard time.
Please keep us posted.
G.

Ganesha,
it took my father a couple years (he was pretty stubborn) to die from lung cancer. But none of us is bigger than life and we're sure not bigger than death. Just carry your teacher out with you in your bloodline. and keep going. peacfully.

Kathyanita I live close to a nuclear power plant and it seems an awful lot of people in my town are dying of cancer. The medium age in my town is around 50 so we are an aging community. I love this community...actually I am in love with this community and town. I never knew one could fall for a place. It's a cool town.

thanks for your caring and support...
in the end that's all we really have left.
I like our community here on PC and especially CC.

my teacher is getting better with the aggressive chemo he's doing.
he can walk again. I got to see him and give him a hug (I was very gentle with him)...god I love the guy.
as I get older it seems I see people exiting more than coming in....

I have a lump in my throat that I'm getting checked.
I got scared last night when I could swallow very easily.
my throat has always been my weakest link.

Ganesha was kind enough to PM and ask how I was doing so I thought I would update. (I sometimes forget that people care) My T has decided against the aggressive chemotherapy although has not yet ruled out radiation. She is going to try the Holistic approach first.I have to respect whatever decision she makes.
I will post more as the story unfolds.
Thanks everyone,
Petunia

Ganesha & Petunia,

I can feel with my whole heart what you are going through & I hope that the outcomes of your T & teacher will turn out well. I just went through this over the last year with my Mother. Her cancer was diagnosed 2 years ago & the surgery was performed 1 year ago. She went downhill a couple of months after the surgery & her desire to be at home caused us to experience a trauma that I would think would only be seen in a movie. She died 5 months ago & left me dealing with the trauma.

I can only hope that the outcomes you experience will be much better than what I went through. Being family places one into a very close position that sees everything that goes on but I do wish the best for you both that you will feel peace with those you care for so much.

Thinking of you both,
Debbie

I am so sorry about the experience you must have gone through.
my heart goes out to you.

thank you for being so caring about my plight.
of course he is still dying.
but my teacher has many lives...
he's amazing how he moves through all the dangerous doors to be renewed.
I know there are just so many times one can do that
but, by god, he still wants to live.
if he's got the will...and his body can make it...
well we are all holding our breath.

thank you again.

He was 64 and he died of cancer-pneumonia. I just found out. His death was posted on the weekend paper as the top headline (he was that important to our community). I am sad and confused.
On Monday my son's father-in-law is undergoing a 12 hours surgery to remove his jaw, tongue and the sides of his neck. He's got cancer.
Yesterday I suffered from heat exhaustion.

I feel a bit overwhelmed.

thank you fayerody
we will be celebrating his life on August 9th
Before he died he was putting together a last show of his work and that opening will be on the first friday in August.
The wednesday before he died he married his longtime companion.
so much life before death.
I feel his spirit and it's peaceful and happy.
He was such a transformational teacher for me and many others.
thanks Pat and everyone for your caring thoughts and energy.
