It was unorganized and down to earth and it was fabulous. A normal way to say goodbye. I guess it is done. We all told stories and sang songs and it is over. Goodbye my friend.

How do you say goodbye "normally"? I always thought the normal way was to eat afterwards...how do you do it?

that is how I want my funeral when the time comes. I don't want some minister that doesn't know me. I want my friends to share good stories.

I guess what I mean about our celebration was that it had no strangers, no formality, just people talking, eating tons with tons of left overs and music and stories. It was fine. Better then fine.

my humble opinion is this, we never really say goodbye, for they are always with us one way or another, we carry them with us , wherever we may be they can be there also. the heart never forgets. this may sound way out there but close your eyes and remember, thanks

Yeah, I like this way of looking at things. Just because someone isn't around doesn't mean they're gone. If I could control my own funeral, it would be something like that. I'd still want religious service, but I hope everyone can have a party afterwards. Play some of my favorite music, drink my favorite drinks, and eat my favorite foods.
