My 85-year-old mom is in the last stage of copd. She is getting weaker and weaker by the day and is on 10 liters of oxygen. She wants to die at home so my sister and brothers and I are taking turns taking care of her. We are devastated. We are glad that she won't be suffering any longer but are going to be lost without her.

i am so sorry about your mom. i hope you don't mind if i share this with you, just in case this might help -my cousin's husband had something similar and had to carry around an oxygen tank. he went to a naturopath who prescribed some kind of vitamin c protocol. (i am not exactly sure what it was) he is now much better and no longer needs the oxygen tank. but i know your mom's situation might be different. however things turn out, my thoughts are with you and your mom.

I am glad you are able to care for your mom at home. And, I am sorry you are losing her; it doesn't matter how or when, it is always difficult. Spend the time well, she is lucky to have her family with her at this time.

I know exactly what you are going through. COPD was only one of the conditions my mom suffered and died from.

May I ask is your mom getting hospice care? My mom had it her last week. They were wonderful with her when they came to her house. Any time of the day or night they were there when called.

You have my sympathy. My mother died of OCPD. It's hard to watch a loved one go through that. It's been 5 years now and I still miss my mother so much. The best to you and your family.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Watching our parents die is one of the hardest things in life.
