Since childhood until now, I've had several cats and dogs. I've cried for every single one of them. Before i had my girls we had this purebred persian who had cardio myopathy - it was a gentic abnormality. We took him to the emergency vet at 3:00am in the morning and he could barely breath, so the vet had to put him down. We took him home and buried him in our rose garden. I didn't want him thrown in a mass grave. I cried for days after losing him. Now I dread the day when Bella gets old or sick.

With regards to my mom, and my dad for that matter, I know they are in heaven.
As for my pets, and service dog... I have belief that they are... I've ordered a DVD from a well known minister about Pets in Heaven

I'll let you know if there's support for that.

Dood Caleb Colombo is now 3 1/2!
I have to keep from thinking that maybe in 6 years he won't be around. But then, maybe I won't be either! Who knows?

Sky,
I'm so sorry for your loss, they are family afterall, especially to have 15 years with your companion, a service dog at that. I'm sure this is the hardest thing to bear. Remember the good times with your dog and know that he's at rest now in the Lord's garden playing and having fun. May you always remember how special he was to you and allow your heart to grief for him.
