My friend was found dead in his bed this morning. He overdosed on pills. I just found out about it a couple of hours ago. I'm still in shock and don't know what to think. I haven't spoken to him in quite some time. I feel terrible about that. I just need some support right now.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Please know that you probably could not have prevented this from happening, it isn't your fault for not contacting him more often etc. Your friend must have been a gentle spirit, to go out in such a non violent way...I'm sorry he couldn't handle the world he lived in. ((((hugs))))

Thank you, everyone. I appreciate your kind words more than I can explain.
I know this wasn't my fault, and I believe there was nothing I could do to stop him. He tried to kill himself a few years ago by stepping out in front of an 18 wheeler. He lost a leg from that. But he seemed to be doing so much better. He got married and really seemed to be happy. He was only 30. He will be missed.

I'm going to the funeral tomorrow. I hope there are people here that are ready to pick up the pieces when I fall apart. I dread this. This will make it seem real to me... I know he's gone, and he's never coming back. I thank you all for your support. I will need it.

I'm dealing with it ok, I guess. I just can't seem to get it off of my mind. It's just going to take time. Michael was loved so much by so many people. I just don't understand, and I probably never will.
