After battling lung cancer and going through surgery and chemotherapy just to develop brain cancer, my aunt passed away last night.

I was informed this morning by email from my father, who is trying to get to her (and the family) through unfavourable weather conditions. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the funeral as next week classes restart.

I'd like to thank everyone for being there for me and for all your support for my family at this time - it really is appreciated.

Thank you all you wonderful bunch of people - it is greatly appreciated.

I got a bit of a shock today, I had sent in a disposable camera to be developped earlier this week and had no idea what was on it - I went to pick it up today and it was actually pictures of my cousin's wedding back in October that I went to - the last time I saw my aunt alive, and there was a really good picture of her with her husband and her brother (my dad) and sisters as well.

This is a good thing and a bad thing, but wow that's tearing me up inside.

Haven't been able to mourn yet, still stuffing it in ... need to take a while I guess.

The funeral is today. I think people's patience with me (friend-wise) is growing thin because I'm not really close to my extended family. Maybe they think I shouldn't feel this sad about her death ... a loss is a loss is a loss, I'm trying to say.

I wish I could go the funeral. Instead today I'm getting a mentor/teacher/friend of mine to help me write a letter of condolences to my uncle. I don't know what to say because I'm so scared everyone is upset at me for not contacting sooner.

Oh well, nothing to be done.
