Hi im new here but I am really having a hard time a member of our church died on Friday of complications to his liver. I am confused too and sad and the reason being is I met this person once in my whole life but I am still mourning and still really sad and I dont think that is normal but yet I do not know why I am mourning then. I just feel really not smart for doing this I dont want attention so its not that but I am genuinely sad that he passed away at 28 and I just cannot get it out of my mind im not eating, sleeping and I am so sad. I just dont get it since I met him only once.

Please know what you are feeling is perfectly normal.... for you are human and it hurts us when any one dies that we know, rather we knew them all our life or just for a few days or two.
... and especially when it is a person that was so "young" and died before they even had a chance to know what LIFE was really all about.

Hi there,

I think it is actually normal to feel saddened in this instance. It is pretty traumatic to see someone one 'knows' (even if just an acquaintance) who passed away... More shocking is that they were really young.

Can you talk to anyone (in your church for example) about this? Do take care of yourself..

You have a tender heart and a good soul. It is normal to greive for anyone's loss whether we really know the person or not. The passing of life is a sad occurance, especially one so young.

I grieve and cry for many souls who pass that I do not know. I send out good thoughts to their loved ones and hope they can feel them.

It's possible that you are grieving for the loss of what may have been with this individual. Maybe you could have had a good friendship...maybe something about him warmed your heart and you only had one opportunity to meet him. There could be a thousand different reasons why you feel as you do. But it's ok.....you are not doing anything out of the ordinary....so don't worry grieving for someone I barely knew and I just dont understand why

Take good care!

Hugsssss
