My mom just phoned me. Zipper has had declining health for a while now (deaf, slowly unable to keep food down and had stopped grooming herself). Apparently this morning she couldn't move, and my mom took her to be put down.

My baby girl has been a part of my life for so many years - almost 19 of them.

Now she won't be there.

I'm going home to petsit this weekend, and it was mostly to take care of my girl. Now it wont be anymore. RIP Zipper (my cat)

Pictures of my girl are in my gallery here if anyone is interested.

(((((((((Christina))))))))) I cried for a week when my childhood dog died. 20 years later, I still miss her and dream about her sometimes. They really do become a big part of your life. I'm sorry for your loss. RIP Zipper (my cat)

((((((((((Bebop, Pat, EJ)))))))))))))))

Thanks all of you.

I got back home last night and here I am petsitting and the house is soooooooo quiet. RIP Zipper (my cat) I'd give anything to have her meowing at me and making a general nuisance of herself.

It just hurts too much right now. RIP Zipper (my cat)

((((((Canders)))))) I'm so sorry to read this. I know how you feel. In 1999 I lost a cat that I had had literally since birth. The cat was born a month before I was, and it used to sleep in my crib with me. She never left my side. In 1999, two months after she turned 19, she passed away.

I know that there are no words that can comfort you, but please know that you and your baby are in my prayers, and that she is safe as she passes over the rainbow bridge(figuratively speaking) to animal heaven. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help. You can PM if you need to.

Hugs ,
MG

(((( Canders ))))) I'm very sorry for your loss.

I've been through it a number of times, and it never gets easier. Just recently a had to put a foster dog PTS. You would think it wouldn't hurt as bad since he wasn't "my dog", but it hurts so bad to lose a friend.

I know it doesn't seem like it, but in time it wont hurt quite as bad. It never completely goes away, but it will get easier.

This has always helped me.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

((((Canders))))

I am so sorry to hear about Zipper. I am going to try to find this website (Can't think at momment) Where you add your pets name to the memmorial. Once a week they lite a flame for each pet lost that you can watch. It has a section where you can share memmories and stuff. If I can't remember it soom maybe someone here know what I am talking about.
