I arrived home on Thursday evening from my trip to see my husband. On Friday afternoon, I received a phone call that an old friend had OD'd and was on life support in ICU and not expected to make it through the night.

My friend used to babysit my kids years ago and we were very close for a long time. Through the years we grew apart. She went in a direction that was not a way I wanted to go in. We did not part on bad terms, we just didn't have much communictation through the past 10 years or so.

This was not her first attempt at suicide, but it was her final and successful attempt. I am so sad for her and her family. My daughters and I went to the hospital yesterday, and they are going back today. My friends oldest daughter is flying in from Florida this morning and when she gets to the hospital, they will be removing the life support. I will not be there when that happens. It's not my place to intrude on this family time. I will however be cooking up a storm and sending over some food this afternoon. It's the least I can do.

Please say a prayer for my friend and her family. They will need all the strength and love they can get right now.
