Hang in there and maybe try talking to a pain management doctor and send a PM to SKY (she is a member on here) and she too has had her life effected by a car accident, maybe she will able to give you some good sound advice.

Hi there. Sorry you are in such a miserable situation. I was injured in an industrial accident that disabled me. That was 20 years ago. I would not have made it thus far without a good T, expert with pain and stress management, and team of doctors (oral surgeon, physical therapist, etc)...

you have to build a team of experts to advise you... good wishes!

Please don't compare your situation with anyone else's in this way (((hugs))) What might be pain to me, might not be to you, etc. If it's interferring with your life, then it's enough to get support for, imo. TC

Hi Jawz,
My sister is going through the same thing. Only a woman fell asleep at the wheel, crossed into her lane and hit her head first. My sister was a registered nurse in an emergency room. Now she has blurry vision, her hand is messed up and so is her ankle. She'll never be able to work as a nurse again. She's not getting any supplemental income so all the bills are falling on her husband shoulders. She hired a lawyer though and they sued her and she got 100 grand which just covers medical and lawyer costs and making up for all her missed work.
Can you sue this person?
I'm sorry this has happened to you. I hope you find some relief from your pain.

Hi Thank you for your post.. Sorry to hear that has happend to your sister.. I am glad they paid at least some of her things off.. I will be going to court in a few months as far as I know... The kid that hit me didnt have insurance, but I had the extra coverage on my insurance.. But they want to fight me for it because it is 100 thousand dollars..
I know it sounds like a lot but the operation they want to do on my neck is 67.500 and I still owe out bills now I have racked up and my lawyer.. So even if they end up paying out my claim , I am still in the hole... I am selling my car tomorrow to pay my bills for the month.. Water, lights , phone , food , stuff like that.. I am 42 and will be walking
again ... I had already sold one car and got this one cheap from my son and now it has to go too.... You think you are coverd because you have paid for years and years for this extra insurance , only to find they really fight hard not to pay out.. They are looking in my back round up tp 10 years I had to answer for..Found out they are one of the worst insurance companies to pay out claims.. Wont name names just say they should not say LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR .. they are not.. Just one big mess I am in..
Thank you again for posting..

Try not to settle anything permanently... a lawyer should fight for you to be able to return should the injury continue to cause you problems, and also bills.

(((hugs)))

Big loving hugs to you jawz. I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. Having chronic pain myself, I know that it can make it even harder to think straight and to figure things out. It's also hard to be nice to others when they just can't understand.

Have you looked into social security disability? Or possible some state aid to atleast help with your medical expense until this is all straightened out?

Try to not be so hard on yourself, you didn't ask for this to happen to you. It will all work out.

Hugs and Prayers,
Annabelle

I am in a similar situation to yours. I was injured on the job in '05 and have 2 herniated disc and nerve impengment of the nerve roots to both legs. I have since lost my job because I was unable to perform and the insurance company has fought me every step of the way. I also fear losing everything that I have worked so hard for. It does make you feel useless, hopeless, depressed, anxious, and angry all at the same time. It is overwhelming for people like us sometimes and for those close to us as well. I can understand what you are going through and I know it is difficult. But remember that a good lawyer can make all the difference. Fight to get your money and to keep your medical open because you may need further medical attention in the future. I know it feelslike a never ending battle but remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Do not ever settle your medical. They pay only less than medicaid, and what they will offer is based upon what THEY pay. When you settle medical, you have to pay cash, and that's the full rate, with inflation.

loosing it all !!

I'm sorry your b/f couldn't support you in your efforts. If he wasn't happy with your decision, then he should have done the work. TC
