Emmy -
What a cool title -- the Dead Mother's Club. My family owned a fairly famous restaurant on the North Shore of Long Island in NY. My aunt was one of the key managers at one point. Every mother's day she would buy pink and white carnations. Every woman customer would get a pink or white carnation that day. If the lady's mother was still living she was presented with a pink carnation. If her mother had gone on, she received a white. Here's your carnation. Hugs, EJ (wearing white carnation -- see Eleanor Victoria post) |

In my imagination, I'm wearing my white carnation in memory of Soledad G. Prince, 1898 - 1982.

In Memory of my mom Margaret
My Mothers Garden ~ Author Unknown My mother kept a garden, a garden of the heart, she planted all the good things that gave my life its start. She turned me to the sunshine and encouraged me to dream, fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem . . . And when the winds and rain came, she protected me enough, but not too much because she knew I'd need to stand up strong and tough. Her constant good example always taught me right from wrong-- markers for my pathway that will last a lifetime long. I am my Mother's garden. I am her legacy- and I hope today she feels the love reflected back from me. ![]()

Thank you Roe~! Mom was a lovely beautiful soul. Always gave from the heart. And she got hurt so much by so many. If she only didnt have to go thru all the pain she had to go thru in her life. I wish I could have protected her like she tried so hard to do for me. She will always be my Heroess.

A conversation with a friend today made me remember this thread. We all deal with our memories of our Moms differently. Whatever you need to say to help you get thru this day.. let it out here.
As always Mom.. I miss you so much.. To My Mother For all the times you gently picked me up, When I fell down, For all the times you tied my shoes And tucked me into bed, Or needed something But put me first instead. For everything we shared, The dreams, the laughter, And the tears, I love you with a "Special Love" That deepens every year.. - Author Unknown. ![]()

Down in the darkness of the grave
She cannot see the life she gave. For all her love, she cannot tell Whether I use it ill or well, Nor knock at dusty doors to find Her beauty dusty in the mind. ~ John Masefield

May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow, for the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not not go alone, a part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A million time we've needed you, a million times we've cried. If love could only have saved you, You never would have died. |

And for those who had Mothers' who were ill, and couldn't love them as well as needed, there s comfort in knowing the sick parts are dead and gone ... earth to earth, dust to dust.
If such a thing as energy goes on, then it's a comfort to know, for all the frightened child-hearts in the world, that her strong energy goes on, and not the scary hurtful biological stuff that brought us pain. Our minds are the battlefields for what has to improve. May every abused child make it better for themselves everyday - remembering only that illness robs the mind if it's not arrested, and what Mother would hurt their children if they weren't sick? WE have to make a new way, of loving ourselves and others without drama and pain - and it's easy compared to what we experienced. If our Mothers were perfected, I'm sure they would fix everything they could. They are not available to do this - BUT WE ARE! Let's not finish the job of abuse Let's find forgiveness for her, and relief in the fact, we can control ourselves for the most part, and change our paths. With or without their permission. I don't give her permission to infringe on my well-being anymore. I didn't want it in my life. I don't want it in her death. Rest in Peace Mother. A woman taking abuse from nobody anymore Thank you. (for others also, who know this pain, it's over ... )
