I admin on another forum, for self injurers and I just found out that one of the other admins died last night of multiple organ failure. We'd been working together for about 5 years but had known each other for 7. It's just so f-ing unfair. She was smart, funny, caring, and supportive to me when I was going through tough times. She'd been in the hospital about a month and I kept hoping she'd get better. I found out when I got to work this morning and checked my e-mail. I just want to ball my eyes out, but I'm still partly too numb plus I'm at work. This makes me really want to drink or cut, but I'm not going to do either because she wouldn't want me to. I'm so going to miss her.

Splitimage,

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I think you are right that she wouldn't want you to cut or drink because of her death.

I like to think of grief as a natural process that one can embrace just as easily as one can close off from. Getting sober has taught me much about choices in my life.

Standing tall, ready to accept whatever gift your friend may have bestowed to you during this period requires using the courage that being in the here and now gives you. JMO.

Good luck with the challenge.

Split ,,, the hoping ,, wanting to get better ,,, and that the Two of Yous ,, more likely than not >> Did that together for others who may at times felt they needed to cut or drink ,,,,

May be search your thoughts and Loving memories ,, of how Your Friend Help guide others in there time of needing comfort and compassion ,,,,,

and lightly cry ,,,, as the tears dampen your cheeks ,,, Hold all the Love you shared ,, closely now to your Heart .

and I do admit ; easier said than done ........... I'm still learning ...

Take Care .
