I went for my first appointment with the urologist this morning. The first thing they did was give me a cup. Laughed and told the nurse I already knew what to do with that. After sitting and talking with the doctor. One of the wonderful questions on the sheet was if you are being treated for a mental illness. So I said the PTSD and left it at that. He seemed fine with it and said that he wouldn't have to do anything with my private area today. He looked over the test of the sample I gave them this morning. It came back with moderate leaves of both red and white blood cells in it. And some bactria, but it was normal stuff that's found on your skin. So he said he wanted another sample. HEREs where I have my freak out. They needed to put a cathater in to get a sample directly from my bladder. But I had a really nice nurse who come in and got the cathater sample. She was very nice and was making jokes with me and really made it easy, even though I was ready to jump off the table in complete fear. At one point she told me to not fall off the table cause I had made it to the edge. I made it through and hope I don't have to do that any time soon again. They gave me more antibiotics and I have to have an ultrasound done friday morning at the hospital on my kidneys and bladder. I just want to go and hide under the covers. I still hurt from what they did this morning.

I am sorry you had to go through that. I've had to have a cathater before too and it is really scary. I hope they find some answers for you.

I so want answers. Been sick with this since the end of Nov. I'm glad that I've finually been sent to another doctor who can figure this out. I hope the ultrasound on friday finually gives me some answers. Bad thing is that I don't see the doctor again until Aug. 1st. to go over all the test results. All I really know is I never want another cathater.

You know the only good thing was that I had a very sweet nurse who took her time with me. She knew I was scared and tried to help me. Even if I was trying to escape at the time.

The medicine they gave me yesterday is making me really sick to my stomach. Very nauseous. I took the med last night at 10:30 with some food. And this morning I'm so nauseous. Hard morning, no answers still Just don't feel good at all. Should I quit the med? I only have to take it this week. Don't know what I should do. Just want to crawl back in bed.

Call the office and tell them what is going on. They might have a suggestion as to what to do to make it better. I have to take pills every six hours that made me sick too, but if I take 2 Advil will the pill, I feel pretty good. They may know a trick like that. Or they may pull you off the med.

Good luck, Monty!

Ty Miss_A and 1day
I called the office and talked to the nurse there. She said that it's a common side effect of the Macrobid and as long as I'm not vomiting and losing my medication to try to keep taking it. Seems to be better this afternoon when I got a little more food in my system. She said to try and eat more food when I take my dose at bednight. Last night I took the medicine with some ice cream, guess it wasn't enough food. Another side effect is drowsiness. So I'll be in the corner catching a Hard morning, no answers still

I'm sorry you had such a hard time at the doc, but at least you went through it!

Do you have any kind of dairy restrictions w/the antibiotics or other medications? If not, eating yogurt or drinking acidophilus-enriched milk can help alleviate the nausea & other intestinal side-effects. It replenishes the natural good bacteria in the intestines that the antibiotics may kill off.

Hope you feel better soon!

Petunia, I'm just waiting for all the test to come back. The renal/ bladder ultrasound went Ok on friday. They didn't tell me anything when I went. So I'm waiting to hear back about all of the test. I go monday morning to hear what the doctor wants to do and find out what's going on with me. My pain seems to get worse everyday. Makes doing the smallest thing hard. Hard morning, no answers still Let you all know more when I find out. Monty
