Gosh I can't believe this ... i know it seems like I'm always moaning about health issues but .... 4 years ago I had a hystorectomy. This year I had an ovary out because of a cyst which was not right, now I am having what seems like hot flushes? God when they strike they strike too .... they seem to be getting more frequent and they're driving me nuts!!!! I'm 45, does this happen when an ovary is removed or is it just about the age to expect these symptoms anyway? Even though I have no womb I still have my cervix as scar tissue made the operation difficult after 2 caesar sections .... I would think it's more than likely hormonal due to the ovary removal though right? God, next time I'[m coming back as a man

How long ago this year did you have the ovary out, and do you still have the other ovary? 45 is a pretty average age to start perimenopause symptoms. But this could be related to the ovary removal as well. Usually when ovaries are removed, "surgical menopause" begins within hours or days. However, sometimes only one ovary is removed. I had a hysterectomy with one ovary removed, my doctor told me that it was highly possible that the other ovary would "fail" earlier than expected due to being the only one. In short...it could be either possibility or both combined.

Thank you hun, yes I still have 1 ovary, the left one was removed because of terrible reccuring pain which was a cyst which was bleeding into the ovary (sorry guys). It is -3 here in the UK and I have to keep going outside in a t-shirt! I guess it's my age lol, how depressing huh? A lifetime of heavy periods, then a hysterectomy, sterilisation before that and an ovary out geesh ... then the change to look forward to

((((hugs)))) to you Ophelia!
I agree with serafim etal as well. You are around perimenopause age, which may (or may not) have brought "the change" closer. No fun at all. ![]() I've had more than my share of feminine troubles as well, which does suck ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Shez |
