So since about early April, I've periodically taking my measurements and storing them in my computer. I got sober April 24 so I took my measurements today and compared them to the ones I took May 1, 7 days after I quit drinking, and the results are amazing!!!!
I HAVE LOST 16.5 INCHES AND 18 POUNDS IN 4 MONTHS AND ALL I DID WAS QUIT DRINKING!!!!!!!!! I have never been this successful at loosing weight and I'm not even trying!! I had switched to lite beer at the end because I knew the beer was making me fat, haha! Now I'm lucky because I didn't turn to sweets and food when I got sober. So if you have any doubt that beer makes you gain weight, here's your answer!!! I fit into a dress I bought a little to small and have never worn. All in 4 months!!! I am so unbelievably pleased! Now all I gotta do is tone up and I'll be hot for the first time in my life!!!!!!!!!! Thank you sobriety!!!! Gettin thin and pretty, Rayna

Rayna - good going!
I was reading about a popular announcer (you may not know him - David Feherty, works in the golf world). He lost 50 pounds after he quit drinking (bottle of whiskey a day). I am not much of a drinker but do have a friend who has been an alcoholic. She's about 20-30 lbs overweight due to drinking a bottle of wine a day. She's cut back a lot. Personally, my support for weight loss comes from loving yourself. You want to look good, you want to love yourself - and you will. You have a desire to make this happen. I had a desire as well - this year, I have lost 35 pounds (6' man down from 235 to 200) due to good eating habits and also started a great vitamin program. The vitamins and my focus on feeling better has really been the key. And, the vitamins keep me from snacking or wanting to eat too much. I'll suggest you talk to a nutritionist or your doctor and look into vitamins as a way to crank up your metabolism. Have some great luck with it - and in the end, you will be pleased. It's still you but it's a you that "you" created.

A followup. In my reply to you above - I said "I'm not much of a drinker." That's true "on average". But I have admitted to others that I do have a binge drinking problem and rarely drink socially any more due to knowing it could go too far. So, I'm happy to say that I found the issue, just as you have.
I read part of your blog - good going. Keep it up too. Things can only get better. Even when things are "great" - they can still get better on top of that too.

Thanks bonaire, I have to remember that. And even when things are great, it's easy to fall. Good job avoiding binge drinking scenarios! My worst days now are better then my best days then. I mean sheez! Even in my best days drinking, I couldn't fit into the jeans I do now! Haha!
