Hey,
I don't know if I'm quite psychic or not but I do know that something that has been said about me around where I live has sparked controversy beyond anything I can control. I want to get to the bottom of a few things so I know for definite it's not anything about these 3 diseases. Firstly I had a test done about 3 months ago for HIV/Aids and it came back negative. What I wonder is I know that HIV is what leads onto aids. So if it was already morphed into aids would a general GUM clinic test for HIV/Aids still pick it up? As for the hepatitis test it was clear too. I even got a home test for both just to ensure any of my recent adventures that were close to the test dates hadn't evolved any issues. I think mainly that question is what bugs me but I do belive I may just be over analyzing the whole thing cos I'm sure that the test would have to be thorough otherwise people would get negative results all the time but yet still have the infection. Worst case is that these answers might not even save me from this evil **** going on round here. It just seems that no matter who I ask what the frig it's all about they lie and say there is nothing going on. Yet as a mentalist I do know fine rightly they are hiding something from me. Which I think is sad because if it was a problem with me that they had sufficient evidence of then I don't think there'd be a reason to hide it. I haven't even left the house in over 3 months because of all this too. :-) Anyways answers to the bolded questions will clear my mind that it's not that and I also already know hepatitis test was clear so guess adding that to the title wasn't really worth it but hey we do things that don't make sense - from time to time. Thanks.

HIV is an infection. You said it was clear three months ago so you it is not possible you have AIDS. Not everyone who has/gets HIV positive results, gets AIDS. They're two different, distinct things but you cannot get AIDS unless you are HIV positive. The reason they are tested together is so if someone is HIV positive, they can further learn if they have AIDS.

I was asking this. HIV turns into AIDS - possibly. If it had already turned into AIDS and I went for a test at the gum clinic would it still turn up positive. As when you go the clinic all the results say is "HIV negative" and not "HIV/AIDS negative" which is why I wonder this.

It would be a good idea to be tested again, since HIV can be undetected for several months: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hiv...-and-diagnosis
From what I read, if your HIV status is negative then it is unlikely you have AIDS. However, since the HIV can be undetected for a period of time, up to 3 months, then repeated testing would be a good idea. Your GUM clinic would be glad to help with your concerns too. |

Good that the 90 day test was negative too!
![]() Sounds like Aids is not mentioned since the HIV tests are negative then, and the the designation HIV/Aids is for those who are HIV positive but Aids negative. |

Sorry but you've confused me now. Does it mean that both are not present if one (HIV) is not present? Or do they both need separate tests? GUM clinic tests. To be fair I do not believe I have anything cos I know my appetite wouldn't be anything near what it is and according to stats I'd have lost 10% of my bodyweight by now which I haven't.

Yes, it means both are not present. HIV has to be present for there to be Aids so if you have Aids, you are HIV positive. However, if you are HIV positive, you do not necessarily have Aids.
Think of it like all the germs in and around us and some people catch something but other people there at the same time do not? It depends on your immune system if the HIV turns into Aids but you have to have the HIV virus, first. If you are HIV negative, then that virus is not in you so you can't "catch" the Aids no matter what.

Now one final test for Hep B rather than C will put my mind at rest about this. Though I don't think I'm gonna recover from this persecution until someone tells me what the frig is going on. ![]()
