Just got back from seeing the ENT( Ears Nose and Throat) Specialist. I found out that I do have a diviated septum. Meaning the cartilage that separates your nose holes is crooked. So the treatment plan is to try medication first.Which includes another 10 days of Augmentin, a nasal spray, clarinex, and a mucus thinner. Then in 3 weeks I have to have a CT of the sinus's again, to see if the treatment helped or not. If it did , then we know that the problem is the deviated septum. If it didnt then we know that the problem is both the sinus's and the deviated septum. Either way I will need surgery. IF the sinus's dont clear up it will be for the sinus's and the DS. If they do then it will just be fore the DS.So wish me luck that this does the trick. Ohh and the good news is that my ears are fine! The busted eardrum healed great! I am so relieved about that! Guess thats all now. Thanks .

Beth

I'm so glad they got you in early and that you have a plan of attack. Life stinks when you don't feel well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Beth,

I am surprised that they do surgery for a DS. I broke my nose (or rather my horse broke my nose) when my horse threw his head into the air & whacked my nose......it bled for over 45 minutes without stoping. I really didn't bother with it at the time (several years ago).

When I was in the hospital last summer with my bronchitis/asthma attack, they did a CT & the DS was found at that time......I guess it must have healed straight enough not to need surgery......I was very scared when they found it, thinking they might suggest surgery......luckily it wasn't that bad.

I hope it all works out for you......hopefully it will clear up by itself with the help of the treatment they have you on.

Debbie
