My mom starts her radiation next week and I was wondering what can she expect? She will have it 5 days a week for 6 weeks. After it is done they will do a PET scan to see if they got all the cancer.
I am scared for her and want to know she will be okay. Jan

Everyone reacts differently to different degrees and someone else who underwent treatment same time as I did only experienced fatigue. I had similar results as Crossfire but for ovarian ca. There is no feeling with the treatment itself. I began to get really tired, then was completely drained. Toward the end, I experienced nausea, some vomiting, slight diarrhea, chills, and needless to say I lost my appetite. Follow the recommendations they have for vitamin supplements during this time and diet suggestions as they can be helpful. It did not take long at all to get my strength, energy, and appetite back after treatment stopped.
I will include you both in my prayers. Sending good wishes and hugs. -Fresia |
