sorry to moan but....
i went to the rheumatologist yesterday. she won't give me anymore steroid injections because i've had more than you're meant to already. i sprained my hip in summer which has meant that there's extra pressure on the bursitis. the best treatment for bursitis is anti inflammatories, but hey, they can potentially make lithium go toxic so i can't take them. i got told i'm "extremely neurally tight" which would be funny if it wasn't so painful. my hamstrings are on the verge of snapping or something, i hurts to walk or stand. it hurts to sit because of the bursitis, it hurts to lie on my side in bed for the same thing. i now have to have zillions of neural massages and physio sessions. she wants me to do pilates but i can't until my muscles are at least something like normal. i also have to have physio and massage on my back which is like a rock and hunching loads because it's also really tight and almost as sore. unless i loosen it up soon, it'll keep impacting on the other joints. and to make it all even better none of this is nhs. i went to an nhs rheumatologist when i couldn't move my neck, like, at all, for weeks on end and when various joints kept cracking painfully. he looked at me cursorily for about 2 mins then looked at my notes and history (with mental stuff included) and said "it's just depression" - having had depression since i was 11, and it never, in 18 years, having been physically manifested, i thought he was wrong, but he wouldn't hear me and so i went to my mum's rheumatologist. my mum has a disease of the joints that's hereditary, and i'd shown other symptoms, but the good nhs doc didn't listen when i told him. mum's doc gave me a full exam and has been great, along with her physiotherapist, who's made a huge difference so far. but they cost a fortune. not happy.

Ouchy, sounds painful, I'm wincing in empathy. Glad you've been able to see a good rheumy and that you now can get some physio.
So many of us get poor treatment because mental stuff is seen in our charts. Too bad the myth isn't true, if mental illness kept us from having any physical illness or challenge at all, it would lighten our load some.

i reckon it would, yes! actually the good rheumy has linked this to my mental stuff, the nerves and so on are tight due to plenty of manic episodes and depressions too, and they need to be really worked on. they think it's something along the lines of ME, which would make sense because it can follow mental illness.
it's bloody sore tho ![]()
