The past few weeks I have been waking up sweaty, with a damp shirt and sheets. It never gets above 70 in the house and I'm usually cold at night and am under a comforter but I don't wake up hot, just sweaty. It happens every night, for the past few weeks. Before this I had no problem with this. Nothing's really changed. I have nightmares but I had nightmares before all this too, its part of my PTSD. Anyone know what causes this, or if I should be concerned?

I know how uncomfortable this can be and hoping there are answers around the corner for you.

If you have not already checked your temperature, check to see if you might have a fever as this can cause this; with having had a procedure lately, this can be a concern. Also between the procedure and if you have started a new treatment with hormones, even without fever, your body may be adjusting to both the procedure and/or if any new treatment with hormones has been started.

With sweats, it was recommended to wear cotton clothing and use cotton sheets; it helps to breathe better and keep some of the sweats at bay, warm for the chills but still breathable cool at the same time, wicks the sweat away.

Be sure to check about the temperature though, and contact your doc to let them know if there is one. If not one, this may be something you want to contact them about anyway, especially if you have started something new to let them know what is going in case it is a reaction and if for no other reason than for reassurance.

Sending good wishes your way. Hang in there.

Did you change anything with your Celexa, when you take it, amount, anything? It's side effects are:

Quote:
Constipation; decreased sexual desire or ability; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; increased sweating; light-headedness when you stand or sit up; loss of appetite; nausea; stuffy nose; tiredness; weakness; yawning.

I'd go see your doctor, see if you can discover what might be causing it. Often it can be hormone-related but could also be meds or something else.

Nope I didn't change anything with my celexa, same dose for years now. I also wear cotton shirts and have cotton bedding. If hormones can cause this, I'm thinking it could be my PCOS which causes hormones to be unbalanced which I've had for years however I just got surgery and an IUD put in to regulate things and it does release hormones. I will talk to my OB/GYN about this. Thanks guys

Yes, could be the PCOS: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20195177
