Hi fellow bear :-)

I haven't taken Lyrica myself, but I attended a neurological conference earlier this year for a condition that I have (trigeminal neuralgia). They had a panel of some of the nation's leading pain management experts, neurologists, and neurosurgeons. They reported some good results with Lyrica....so it is now being used to treat nerve pain now in certain cases. I think it is a relatively new use of this drug, and the drug itself hasn't been on the market all that long either, I think - but the results sound good. Hope this helps.

Take care,
ErinBear

I've been given it as well...for trigeminal neuraligia due to multiple surguries following a large cyst in the maxillary sinus.

I'm to begin taking it today. What a trip to read this.

I'll be in touch.

Hi KimmyDawn -

Oh dear! I'm sorry to read of this. In this case, you are probably like me and technically have trigeminal neuropathy rather than trigeminal neuralgia, but either way - it's the pits!!!! I'm so sorry to hear that you are dealing with this. Feel free to PM me at any time. I've been dealing with this for about 15 years and know a good bit about it.

I also had sinus surgeries, although my neuropathy arose from different surgeries - so we have that in common as well. Wow, small world, eh?

I hope the Lyrica will be helpful. As I wrote above, I have heard good things about it. Sending you many good wishes, KimmyDawn.

Hugs,
ErinBear

Hi Thank you all for answering even those who hadn't heard of it, reminds me again that this board has been a good place to be.. I hope that this works for both of us kimmydawn and how about you let me know if it works for you. they say some feel relief after a week. It's been 3 days and I haven't had any side effects that I can tell. Heck the ones they mention are things that are so common to me I don't know if I could tell the difference..... Take care and I hope you have some relief from your pain... I am taking this along with the morphine for chronic pain asscociated with MS... Fun fun fun..... Take care all and I will be back... fair warning

Is it for CNS or peripheral nerve pain, or both do you know? Guess I need to google it?

neuropathic pain,,, apparently it has been working great for diabetics.. I don't know yet, my pain is more than just that, though I do notice some of the tingling burning seems seems to be less... It is so hard to tell . I have been living with this for what 16 years now with it getting worse almost daily, so every new drug tried frustrates me as I have to pay attention to the pain instead of trying to ignore it..... Errrrrrrrrr
