Can anyone tell me anything about it.

It seems that it's ANOTHER thing I can't tolerate for my trigeminal neuraligia. I couldn't do the topamax after a bit because I would get like "dead spots" where there was just nothing in my head it seemed, and I care for my little man.

With the lyrica, I'm so tired I can't see straight and I feel like my legs, ankles and feel swell because I get that tight tingling when I walk (like when I was pregnant and swelled too much).

I can say that just in a short time it helped the nerve pain in my left shoulder and arm and it's really not come back.

I stopped it and was fine. Was the swelling a glitch, or in my head? Meds do scare me and I find fault with many...

If the swelling was just a glitch, would I more than likely adjust to the sleepiness to work up to a good dosage?

It seems I'm just sensitive to everything. Cold meds are a huge no-no even.

Perhaps you need a lower dose?

Kimmy,
I have found that some of my pts have similar side effects with Lyrica and if they can restart at lower doses and increase very slowly they can then tolerate the med. I have seen it work wonderfully for nerve pain if you can ride out the inital side effects Lyrica and Nerve Pain

Thank you both so much!

I'm going to be honest. I have such a fear, or stubborness, about meds that it's probably making the symptoms I have increased by double. I wouldn't doubt that one bit.

I do know that I have to be active, aware, and not sleepy to keep up with my boy.

I will talk with the dr. again. Right now I'm off of it, so maybe I could start with the smallest dosage and try taking it about 10 pm?

hi there, just a tid-bit from my mom (she reads some of this too but never posts) she calls lyrica her miracle drug as she has had everything for pain including morphine (she has fibromyalgia) and nothing was able to stop the constant pain as Lyrica did, although the lyrica replaced the 2400mg of Neurontin (not sure if the being on a med already to another lessened, if not eliminated all side effects) however she is a much better functioning person since being on Lyrica, some days prior to this med she couldnt even get out of bed, now as long as she stays on track with taking this med (WITHDRAWAL IS NOT GOOD) she is able to do the regular day to day functions in life. I do notice that sometimes if she is already tired, the lyrica seems to make her sleepy rather rapidly but usually only the evening dose.but otherwise she wouldnt be the same without this med, then again everyone is different!

As a footnote she currently takes 150mg 2 x daily, but started on 1/2 that dosage approximately 1 year ago, i am not aware of what is a high or low dosage im just adding what hers is incase it might be helpful to you.
BUT she has fibromyalgia, not trigeminal neuraligia... GOOD LUCK!!
