A little bit ago I started seeing a roundish multi color line. Looks like a kaleidoscope image. I don't know why or what's wrong.

I am no opthalmist, so my advice is get it checked out, but it does sound like a floater, I can't remember if it is a microscopic bit of dust or a human cell that did not breakdown properly , whichever they are very common and harmless, i have had one for many years, it does get frustrating at times when i am trying to concentrate on focusing and all i can see is the floater flickering away!

Eyes are finicky and if it's still a problem, you might want to see an eye doc. Sometimes it's virtually "nothing", it's just that it's hard to know yourself. Ocular migraines can cause that. They usually start with a minor blind spot, and then develop into patterns or rainbows, then wanes and a mild headache might set in. But strange vision like that can also indicate something weird going on in the retina. And you don't mess around with that because it's the part of the eye where light is projected. So if something is up there you want a doc.

So who knows?

Something to keep in mind is that ocular migraines often affect both eyes (not always) and things more to do with the eye directly your other eye appears normal. But there are no absolutes.

Its better now it was just the one eye but I lost about half the vision in it at the time. I'm going to mention it to my doctor next time I see her but if it happens again I will just try to make a same day appointment. I have gotten migraines but the vision loss is new I've had floater but I don't think that was what happened today very scary at the time.

Eye issues are nothing to wait around on. Please see your ophthalmologist as soon as you can.

I was an Optician for YEARS, and ANY TIME you lose vision for ANY REASON, or see colored lines, etc., GET TO YOUR EYE doctor immediately!!!! There could be something seriously wrong!! Don't mess around with this. You could lose vision in that eye permanently.

So please see your eye doctor (ophthalmologist, preferred) as soon as you can. And please let us know what he says, ok? God bless & please take care. Hugs, Lee

I'm not a doc, but really nearsighted people have very oblong eyes. Sometimes, especially as we age, the gooey substance in the eye cannot longer fit into this non spheric eye so it comes loose here and there and starts pulling on things. Many people have eyes where it sort of came loose without much of an issue, but the problem is if it is still partially attached to your retina in the back of your eye. If it is a simple case, you just live with it, but if you have a lot of retina involvement you will need treatment for that.

Only an eye doctor can see this. The eye examination is actually pretty simple. They dilate your pupils and you look into their machine and they can see almost anything wrong with your eyes. It doesn't even take long.

It might not even matter that you cannot drive yourself, because it is not recommended that you drive within the first ours of dilation. When I had it, I had to really squint to even find my bus home. The light was so intense. Wish I had brought sunglasses, LOL. So in either way, someone else providing transport is much safer.
