For the past few nights, i've been getting headaches. However, last one I got one and it hasn't gone away. It's so bad that it's driving me to the point of tears and about to rip my hair out. I've taken Excedrin Migraine (which almost always work) but it hasn't. Should I be worried???

Hi Amanda,

In my experience, all of my headaches (including the mind-bending ones where I am tearing up) are caused by dehydration, lack of food, sleep deprivation or stress. (Or all of the above!)

If you're worried and its a long-lasting headache, then go to your doctor. If you're prone to migraines (I noticed you take Excedrin Migraine, do you get migraines?) then still talk to your doc.

It could also be caused by medication, one of the more common side effects of meds is headaches.

Hope you find some relief soon.

My daughters NEUROLOGIST also told me to drink a 20 oz of MT. Dew (in one sitting) when I got one of my migraines that refused to go away (longest one was 35 days).... the caffeine in the soda will decrease the swelling of the blood vessels, hence no more pressure.

THank you all for your responses. B eieve it or not, it went away last night when I had a can of soda. Who knew caffeine would work? And yes, I am DEFINATELY prone to migraines. My sister has them as well... gotta love that blood bond with headaches! LOL I think I will cut out the Excedrin for a while And the lack of sleep could very well be the cause. Every night, I am up until 5am and wake up at 1 the next day... only because my body has gotten immune to it. However, I did get about 10 hours of sleep today and I felt good and didn't have a headache. HEADACHE THAT WONT GO AWAY!!!
