Recently, I've been having these sharp pains in the bac of my head. Near the top. Like...one day it'll be a sharp pain in my top left bit of my head, then the next day itll be the right. its really weird and painful. The sharp pain just flashes then goes away as quickly as it came, and it comes at anything to five to twenty minute intervals.

help?

Looks like a doctor visit is in order here IF you want to get to the bottom of what is going on....... hopefully they will be able to find the issue causing the headache. Good Luck.

There are so many different causes for headaches, I am going to have to agree that it might be a good time to call your dr.

best idea, go to a doctor id they're worrying you. It could be the way you sit, or a neck/back problem or any other sort of thing. Or it could just be a nasty headache. Best to get it checked out if it worries you and doesn't go away with anything like Tylenol or Advil.

I was just looking up headaches for myself yesterday (bottom left back :-) Found this which was reassuring for me:

I would wander to the doctor's though, see if they can discover anything about yours, make sure it's not harmful.

How's it going today?

This looks like a good site for outlining a LOT of different headaches, but your headache still could be caused by something else.

I am in agreement with the previous posts. A doctor appointment sounds like a good idea. Just curious, any history of migraines? Although that's just one possibility of many.

Don't dismiss this... follow up with your MD or DDS. It might be from your jaw, btw, which is why I suggested a savvy dentist. Headache... Are you chewing gum or eating tough foods when it happens? Or maybe clenching due to stress, or leaning on your hand? Headache... Hard to figure out from here, but I hope you do figure it out. Pain is tough to bear. Headache...
