Body Pain - (from RA - Rheumatoid Arthritis)

I am so DARN tired of this entire body pain from my RA.... it is literally draining the life and desire right out from under me. I guess I will just have to live on the pain-killers along with the many other Rx that is supposed to be helping - Yeah Right!!!

I am tired and yet I cannot sleep..... for even the pressure of a soft pillow up against my head brings more discomfort.... someone knock me out please.

Thanks Zen..... I went back to bed at 9 am and slept until 11:30 am with the help of 2 pain-killers, guess they heard my cry and knocked me out - lol.
Now I have to manage to get moving, but it is hard for my body still feels so drained.... and i look like I am ready to go on a trip - for I have 2 BIG BAGS under my eyes - rofl rofl - a little humor (i think).

I'm glad you were able to get some sleep, Rhapsody! I hope you find some other way to feel better too. Meds are good for pain, I just wish there was something more that could ease your pain. Body Pain - (from RA)

It's good to see you still have your sense of humor! That is something that we must always try to hold onto! Body Pain - (from RA)

(((((((( Rhap )))))))

I'm so sorry you're hurting. I hope the Drs can find some way to help you more very soon.

A low carb, high protein diet has been known to help. Have you tried it?

Hugs,

Jan

Is there any one on here that has RA and that suffers (at times) from the mere touch of a hand on your skin? - as though your skin and muscles are inflamed and cannot withstand pressure of any amount, not even that of the mildest form.

AND - - - do your teeth or the roots ever hurt or start to become sensitive even though the dentist & x-rays says all is well?

Thanks...

Rhap,

It happens with fibro. Maybe you have both. I have literally screamed in pain when someone touched my back. It embarrassed me to to death, but it happened.

Hugs,

Jan

Yeah that is possible.... and my doctor did say that it is highly likely that I could develop that as well - I will ask him at my next 6 month check up in August.

BTW - he is a good doctor and while I do indeed have RA.... he said that if I got Fibro that he would treat me for it, but keep it between me and him, due to the fact that many Insurance Companies will not cover patients that have a Dx of Fibro (ever how U spell that).... but RA & Fibro can be treated with some of the same medicines.

Fibromyalgia is also included in the arthritic dis-eases...and he would be the one to treat you. Body Pain - (from RA) One doctor tried to DX me with it instead of the myofascial pain... but the specialist said no, not fibro. (I think the one doctor...being paid by the system wanted that dx so the system wouldn't have to cover my bills Body Pain - (from RA) )

But I don't know of RA having that response. I have a bit of rheumitism (also from injury) it's mainly joints. If you have tender points, it could be fibro. If they are trigger point areas, it's more likely something else. In your head... that has to be referred pain, doesn't it? IDK. TC feel better!

Thanks.... and yeah it is hard to say if I have Fibro (some thing else) or just full blown RA, for RA effects both the joints and the muscles.... and because of this I literally hurt from the top of head to my toes.

I know I've said this before, and right now I'm not practicing my own advice, but if you give up carbs, you will be amazed at the difference. The pain of fibro and anklyosing spondylitis literally go away. I don't know why. I have no idea, but it's like eating carbs is ingesting poison. It works, Rhap.

Phooie Spit Spit - another bad night of sleep.... it is just so darn hard to get to sleep, let alone stay a sleep when your entire body aches from any amount of pressure that touches it.... OUCH!!! - HURTS!!!

My head hurt so much from the mere touch of a pillow up against it that my stomach became extremely upset from the pain that I felt as I was going to throw up all night long.

I had to start my day off with a PAIN KILLER...................... Body Pain - (from RA)

THIS SOUNDS JUST LIKE ME THESE DAYS....

Signs and symptoms of fibromyalgia can vary, depending on the weather, stress, physical activity or even the time of day.

Common signs and symptoms include:

1.) Widespread pain. Fibromyalgia is characterized by pain in specific areas of your body when pressure is applied, including the back of your head, upper back and neck, upper chest, elbows, hips and knees. The pain generally persists for months at a time and is often accompanied by stiffness.

2.) Fatigue and sleep disturbances. People with fibromyalgia often wake up tired and unrefreshed even though they seem to get plenty of sleep. Some studies suggest that this sleep problem is the result of a sleep disorder called alpha wave interrupted sleep pattern, a condition in which deep sleep is frequently interrupted by bursts of brain activity similar to wakefulness. So people with fibromyalgia miss the deep restorative stage of sleep. Nighttime muscle spasms in your legs and restless legs syndrome also may be associated with fibromyalgia.

3.) Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and bloating associated with IBS are common in people with fibromyalgia.

4.) Headaches and facial pain. Many people who have fibromyalgia also have headaches and facial pain that may be related to tenderness or stiffness in their neck and shoulders. Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, which affects the jaw joints and surrounding muscles, is also common in people with fibromyalgia.

5.) Heightened sensitivity. It's common for people with fibromyalgia to report being sensitive to odors, noises, bright lights and touch.

Other common signs and symptoms include:

1.) Depression
2.) Numbness or tingling sensations in the hands and feet (paresthesia)
3.) Difficulty concentrating
4.) Mood changes
5. ) Chest pain
6.) Irritable bladder - (big prob lately)
7.) Dry eyes, skin and mout - (itchy all the time)
8.) Painful menstrual periods - (can i get a OUCH)
9.) Dizziness
10.) Anxiety

Rheumatic disease. If you have a rheumatic disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus or ankylosing spondylitis, you may be more likely to have fibromyalgia. (i have RA)

* * * * * * * *

What do you all think..... and YES, i am going to a doctor next MONTH on the 10th at 9am.... I just want to talk about it until then.

I think you have fibro and I think before you let some Dr put you on medication that you should try a low carb diet. At the very worst, it can't hurt you, and at the best, it will help you a lot.

Hugs,

Jan

I hear ya on the RA pain! Mine has been getting worse since spring, the Enbrel helped for awhile--I think a lessening of the ever present pain made me feel better--but now it feels like it may be getting worse again, or I'm beginning to notice it again. Hands, hips, knees and ankles mainly this time.

I'm still on mtx along with enbrel and ib 800s 4x daily...I'm not sure he will be able to take me off mtx, if its this bad while still on both Body Pain - (from RA) Though, supposedly you can go off mtx after starting TNFBs. I couldn't get in until September, and haven't seen my rheumatologist since March, though I usually go in every 2 months.

I didn't know fibromyalgia was a companion of RA Body Pain - (from RA) More to look forward to Body Pain - (from RA)

I don't have to cut all my carbs out... but there are a few (listed on the arthritus site) that will increase my pain in my joints: RICE and CORN and EGGPLANT. I can handle whole grain pasta just fine. I don't eat anything WHITE i.e. rice or bread.

Maybe by cutting out two or three items will give you a noticeable relief???

Yeah, anything that will help reduce inflamation is important. I found this on the new revamped Arthritis page : “Combine all of the diet recommendations - limit between-meal snacks (especially if you’re overweight); carefully select and use fats in moderation; limit your intake of animal proteins; and increase nuts, beans, legumes and fish,” I hadn't realized that animal proteins can cause problems. HMMM I don't eat much meat, but will notice after I do, now.

I saw my Rheumy Doc yesterday and he has added a 3rd Rx to my slue of RA meds since I am having a vast amount of breaks through's that are interfering with my daily activities and leaving me physically drained for most of the day - Crossing fingers and hoping for the best.

AND - he refilled my painkillers for another 6 months.... hurray for me (i think).
