I think the DR can justify the more expensive injectables if you explain that your nausea is exacerbated by the pills - since you do, at times, have nausea, that would seem to me a valid cause.

I've been getting excruciating headaches for last couple of years, it feels like migranes but none of the migraine meds work for me. I've been to the ER a few times, because it felt like my head was going to explode. I've had numerous CAT scans and MRIs, everything is clean. I do suffer from major anxiety and panic attacks and I think that is a contributing factor. Usually 5 mgs of Oxy will often help these headaches go away.
I live in NY and the state recently implemented a narcotic registry. Every doctor can check up on what narcotics you've received in the last six months.
This has caused doctors to pretty much stop writing prescriptions for narcotics. I starting to run low on my oxy and no doctor will prescribe that, or any other narcotic for my headaches.
I have tried every migraine med with no success and not sure what to do. I can't keep running to the ER @ $100 a pop. I'm starting to miss days at work, due to these headaches.
Is every state so "stingy" with their narcotic scripts???

I don't know if the US is different than here in the UK but there is no test for migraine, I have had migraines since the age of 11, I vomit and need to lie down in a dark room

I take Topamax twice daily for mine before I started taking these my migraines were really severe, My kids get them too now, It is hereditary in most of my family.
