I am a little worried, in the past few months i have been getting palpations and chest pains and i went to the Dr and she put a machine on me for 5 days to monitor my heart when i get chest pains and palpations, i had to press a button when i got those problems.. Today i got a phone call from my Dr saying she wants to see me to discuss my results.. I am really worried, my partner had the same machine last year and he was told by his Dr that the result came back fine but the Dr told him that on the phone, but i have to go in and see the Dr.. I am really worried.. I don't see my Dr till 1st May, how do i cope with the worry till then..

Claire..

Maybe you could call your doctor and explain the severe anxiety you are feeling about the situation to find out if they can tell you anything over the phone or possibly see you sooner
Thanks for this!

It's entirely possible too that your doctor may want to talk to you about some anxiety medication or anything of that sort that may be the reason for the palpitations. There could be any number of reasons for your doctor wanting you to come it. It may be this doctors way of doing things as compared to your friends doctor.

I know it's so easy for our minds to go to the worst case scenario. The previous suggestion to call his office and tell them how upset you are is a good idea as well. They may be able to get you in sooner or at least to give you a bit of info that will calm you some before your scheduled appointment.

Wishing you well and please don't forget to breathe!
Thanks for this!

Were you able to get any information when you called the office or maybe another appointment?

Thinking of you!
Thanks for this!

(((porcelainchild)))

I can understand how scared you are about the results of the heart rate monitoring. May 1st is less than 1 week away though...not too far off. Try to distract yourself whenever the thoughts start haunting you.

Chances are good that if the results are pretty serious your doctor would have made room in her schedule to get you in to go over the results nearly immediately. So, you can use that to reassure yourself that the results aren't that major. I hope that helps you Please do be sure to update us when you get word of your condition!

Hope that your anxiety eases soon ~ slow, deep breaths & relaxing images in your mind. Best wishes!
