Does anybody know anything about glaucoma?
My mother has it. She said it runs in families.
My one eyeball hurts sometimes and I wonder if it's because I have glaucoma too.
I guess I should go to the eye doctor.
Just wanted to know if anyone here has it or knows anything about it.

It's a condition that causes pressure inside the eye.

Look at the link, there you'll find a lot of information.

Thanks Nina,
I'm going to see an eye doctor tomorrow. I'm hoping it's just eye strain from being on the computer too long.

glucoma is pressure behind the eye...and it can be very serious...you could go blind....so if you have any kind of pain...please go check it out...it could also be nothing but a headache in the eye...but you won't know till you go see...

My dad has severe glaucoma, and it's not fun. However, the only related eye pain he has ever had has been due to the medication (eye drops), not because of the condition itself. Hopefully you're right, and it's just eye strain.

If you do go to the eye doctor, it's worth a trip to see an opthamologist instead of just an optometrist, considering your family history.

Hi Bethsway and January,
Thank you for the information.
I did go to the eye doctor today. (She was an optometrist)
I don't have glaucoma. She couldn't find anything wrong with my eye. She wants to do one more test which dialates my pupils and I'm going to get that done on saturday. I couldn't do it today.

I did get a new prescription and a new pair of glasses. Glaucoma

Good news Jax! Glaucoma

Can you bring someone with you for the drops?

They kinda make it hard to see. The sunlight is a killer. Glaucoma

They do have drops they use for a quick recovery but they sting. Glaucoma

Hi Petunia,
I'm going to take a cab.
I'm going to ask about the quick recovery. I don't mind the sting-I don't like the idea of not being able to see. I'll have to remember to bring my sunglasses.
Thanks Petunia Glaucoma
