I don't think it's trivial at all ! It sounds like it is really frustrating to deal with, and you wish it would go away!

Totally not trivial.
I have suberhoric (sp?) dermatitis. These are not trivial issues. It impacts self esteem, how others treat us, how we feel physically. I can't tell you the number of times people have told me that i should just use x cream, or y moisturizer, not realizing that it is not just a little dry skin that can clear up with some Olay moisturizer. Take care of yourself.

I do not have it, lucky me, but I know people who do and they suffer a lot.

There is nothing trivial or petty about your complaint.

Hope you can find treatment for yourself.

Take care!

eczema is certainly not trivial, but avoiding all dairy products does help me. for some reason whenever i try dairy in any form a few days later i get really itchy dry flaky skin on my face especially around my nose and mouth, but if i steer clear of dairy it almost disappears completely without the aid of creams. it does not affect the eczema on my elbows or under my boobs though, this is perminently there no matter what i try. sterzac powder helps dry up weepy eczema very well.

The allergist told me that my skin was too bad to do a allergy test on me, so I started writing down things i'd observed myself.

Eggs, soy, alcohol, too much vaseline (clogs pores causing heat rash), dust, heat, herbal essence (the color me happy scent) all trigger my eczema.

Almond milk (as a replacement), drinking a lot of water after alcohol, Aquaphor, Dove soaps, pillow cases that allow venting (not silk or too heavy cotton), constant fan running, and Xtra Laundry Detergent ($3 at Dollar General) all have helped me live a better quality of life!

Good luck in finding what helps you!

Edit: I've heard dairy and wheat are bad too!

Cetaphil face wash? supposedly Galderma (the maker of Cetaphil) makes good products that are not harsh. In general, a face wash is better than a face soap.

They say that usually things like that come from an inside reaction to something that the body doesn't like or is allergic to....know it's a nuisance to figure that our....but better than suffering for the rest of your life.

It's definitely a horrible thing to have to live with

eczema is a auto-immune skin reaction that is really uncomfortable and can get in the way of your quality of life. Not trivial at all <3

I (for someone with a lot of auto-immune problems) shockingly never got eczema. But my sister does and my brother did. With them, oatmeal based creams worked wonders when applied a few times a day. Same with unscented gentle soaps (my sister is a big fan of baby body soap during the winter, it's very gentle and isn't perfumed).

One cream I suggest staying far away from is Sarna. As I said, I don't have eczema, but I am actually allergic to the sun... which sounds ridiculous; but none the less, Sarna contains menthol, which gives your skin the cool feeling, but it will further irritate the already irritated skin in the process.

I hope you start feeling better soon. I know chronic skin issues are horrid. I am finally getting my own under control. Let us know how you're doing <3
