I get more and more migraines lately which seem to be in line with a classic migraine.
I don't get nauseous every time, but when I do I end up utterly incapacitated at some point- and the stomach sickness tends to get pretty intense pretty fast, then eventually dull down to moderate severity until I pass out with the headache, then wake up many many hours later.

The one red flag that is consistent every time I get a migraine is a major increase in perceived body temperature for about 24-36 hours. I don't have a fever or anything but I feel way over heated and I will often sweat through my sheets in my sleep (I know super pleasant).

This time... I got the body temp thing for about three days, which is looong for prodrome stuff. Today in my mother's car driving to another state I finally started to feel extremely ill, out couldn't even scramble for some mint gum (which actually does really help).

Since getting home around two I have had fluctuating severity of nausea. It's eleven o'clock at night. Usually this phase is over in an hour.

I'm kind of scared that when I get the headache my head will actually explode, it should be in full gear by now. Waiting like this kind of sucks.

I know I am all over this site lately.I'm sorry I am just having a heck of a time the past several weeks and right now I feel particularly physically bad. Usually I feel I'm a little less high maintenance...

I don't have a really specific question, but if anyone has anything helpful to add it would be really appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

-Josie

Thanks.
I think I just have lot going on lately, maybe. Allergies and poor sleep and bursitis in my shoulders seems to be back, plus mental stress. I think it's probably to be expected when there's a lot going on your brain is just going to act up.
It's pretty inconvenient though. If there's no specific trigger except "stress" right now people around you really start to get sick of this whole song and dance, ya know?

between the physical and mental challenges going on ... lot's of possible migraine triggers
makes it harder to deal with the triggers as well when it is like that
as far as being sick of this whole song and dance - for sure

Migraines are horrid. I am not sure that sweating is part of it though. That part sounds like hormones. Hormones can cause Migraines. Have you had you hormone levels checked lately. Maybe a trip to the doctor and some tests might help?

Just wondering.............

Fellow Migraine sufferers,

I usually cannot "catch" it in time to take a triptan. I see gold flashes as my aura, then a feeling that someone ripped my eye out.. I need to be in a dark room, cover my eyes, and prace prsessure on whateer side it is on...They used to be on the left , but now they switch.

I have already gone to a walk in for an injection of toradol.

I usuaully am not nauseous.

I'm feeling quite a bit better actually.

I was really nauseated for a very very long time, almost straight through to this morning. Then had the head pain for a long time as well.

But it was like as soon as I started having the head pain I felt quite a bit less nuts than i had in the past few days.
...well that explains it...???

ha.

Thanks.

Ondansetron (Zofran®)

GREAT STUFF!

get the tablets that dissolve under your tongue. Treats nausea associated with migraines. Works wonders. Also (and more so) used as an aid in chemotherapy. Highly recommended.

I take topamax to prevent my migraines...I used to have a migraine almost every day, and topamax works amazingly well; now I only get a few a year. Some people have side effects and some people don't from topamax (I don't)...that's a definite hit or miss.

When I had migraines and was nauseated, I was prescribed Phenergan (generic is promethazine). Zofran does zero for me (but it's the latest and "greatest" antinausea med, in theory), which I found out in the hospital later when I had kidney stones...had to wait for it to get out of my system before they would give me the other and then I was sooo much better.

Yeah I take topamax as well. A whole lot of it actually.
But the past few months I've been having a whole lot of Neuro crap anyway for some reason. :/

So... probably need to either add on or switch or something, which is always a good time.
