YES....... you will need to see a doctor for some cream that you insert at night, please do this ASAP as to keep the infection from becoming a bigger problem than it is right now.

Ew sounds awful! I heard that creams are just junk and pills are better. You can go to a website like Web MD, yahoo health or find your own on a search engine.

BD~ You can go to Walmart or a pharmacy and get their brand of Miconozole cream . Get the 7 day treatment one though. Some of the shorter treatment ones dont do as well. Try that first then if it doesnt help especially after a couple of days.. get to the doctor. I know how embarrassing it can be to go to a doc for this. And when I get them.. I use this and it takes care of it. Hope this helps. girl subject..... Also .. try to wear lose clothing . Let things breath as much as possible that will help too. Are you on antibiotics right now? Alot of antibiotics will cause yeast infections. If you are. .call your doc and let them know . They may switch the AB or go ahead and call in a scrip for the yeast infection for you .

If you have been sexually active over the last month...
And in particular if you haven't been using condoms...
You really should go to the doctor.

Because there are things that can mimic yeast infections but that need a different kind of treatment.

And it is important to get those ruled out. I think it can be hard to tell what you have even if you are used to having yeast infections on occasion.

Personally... I've used the creams (which are ok. have to use them if you happen to have your period). You need to apply them for about a week though. There are also pessaries which are a little like putting in a tampon. If you get the latter... My advice would be to ask specifically for one that only needs to be applied once. Some of them need multiple applications, but there is a kind that only needs one application.

I've never brought anything OTC for it. I've always gone to the doctor. Once... It wasn't a yeast infection it was some other kind of bacterial infection (not sex related) but still... I thought it was a yeast infection and it wasn't. The treatment for it was different. I think you can get OTC stuff for thrush now. I remember there was quite a bit of controversy over that one in NZ because the doctors were concerned that women would assume they had a yeast infection and try and treat it OTC when they could have something a bit more serious and / or something that needs a different kind of prescription.

Are you diabetic? My mom use to get these infections, then after she was given meds for it, and went onto DX for her diabetes (insulin) she has not gotten them anymore.
It may be embarrassing, but go to the doc, I think my mom had just one or 2 pills she had to take.
I hope I never get one of these yeast infections.
Lots of luck, take care.

drinking cranberry juice will help you feel better..but you need to do something with meds for it soon... it can cause some big problems if you let it go. You don't even have to go to the MD for the script...since you're pretty sure what it is... ask for one to be called in to pharmacy.

Allergies can also cause this type of reaction (infection.) Be careful with what you eat, as anything with a growth culture etc will promote it. (Yogurt, blue cheese, mushrooms even.)
