Gynecologist will perform a d&c and hysteroscopy, to remove polyps (they are causing me trouble), and said it will be done under general anesthesia.
Now, I have lived through labor and delivery of two kids without any epidural. I was wide awake, through the intense pain. I did lots of focused breathing and somehow managed without epidural or other pain blockers.

So I'd like to opt out of general anesthesia this week, but I need a viable alternative. Any ideas? Perhaps a tape I can listen to that will help me through the pain?
And how painful is such a procedure anyway? Compared to labor and delivery?

a surgical procedure involves cutting. it hurts. i doubt that your doctor would agree to do it without anesthesia. good luck, pat
