I've gained 60 pounds in the last three years and I'm very depressed about it. I used to be 110 pounds and healthy and I loved how skinny I was. I was a size 3 and now I'm a size 12. I tried going to a weight counselor but she was terrible and I signed up for a weight webinar but I got too depressed to want to go.

I don't know what to do. All day I've been thinking about making myself throw up and I know it's not healthy but what else am I going to do? How am I going to lose all this weight?

I am so out of shape that not even five minutes into an uphill hike got me so winded. I'm broke so I'm limited as to what I can buy to help me lose weight. I feel so terrible about my weight that I feel ashamed to wear even a one-piece bathing suit. And none of my clothes are flattering on me and most don't even fit right.

What am I supposed to do?

First off....throwing up doesn't cause one to loose weight.....research it....but the calories go in almost immediately.

The best way is to take that 5 minute hike......as your starting point....then increase if daily or as rapidly as your body allows.....& you will be surprised just how much the exercise does wear off the lbs.....also not eating any junk food.....& starches/sugars....keep those out of your diet.....eat the healthy food that doesn't taste that good, but it good for you.

Eating smaller meals of healthy food more times a day....sometimes helps. I have struggled with anorexia....so my bad....I usually only eat one meal a day.....but if I bring any snack food in the house & eat it.....the weight goes on. I know because I only go shopping once a month....& when I buy junk food it's gone within the first 2 weeks of the month....making the last 2 weeks of the month the healthy weeks & I usually loose any weight I gained the first 2 weeks.

Also....don't know what meds you are on.....but AD's do cause weight gain because of the decrease in the metabolism.....that's sadly just a fact that has to be dealt with & countered with healthier foods & exercise. It does work......& from a personal experience.....ED's of any sort aren't something to get involved with.....as they cause horrible other problems that one has to live with the rest of their life & there is nothing worse than sitting there in older age saying....."If only I hadn't......."

Sorry you're feeling this way, DrSkipper. Have you thought about running? I took up running back in May, not for weight loss but for my mental health. I did the Couch to 5K program. It's 9 weeks, three workouts a week, and the first week you start off running 60 seconds, walking 90 seconds for 20 minutes. There's a free app for your smartphone. It really boosted my self esteem. I made a social group for it (it has all of two members ) but if you're interested or need some motivation or anything, let me know. I also frequently go to Daily Motivation : theBERRY It helps get me moving.
Thanks for this!

It seems easy enough to do when I take my dog for a walk. I'm going to try it and see how it goes!
