I had a d&c with general anesthesia to remove 'an abundance of endometrial tissue overgrowth' . Ever since then I've been experiencing excruciating pain in my upper back, then it progressed to my lower back, then shoulders, then arms, today it's down to my fingertips and down to my legs.
I'm thinking fibromyalgia, but have yet to receive a formal diagnosis.
Had begun to have some backache in October after an emotional response to an overwhelmingly stressful situation. But after the surgery I was in such agony I finally went to the doc for painkillers. Regular painkillers did not relieve the pain, and even the opiates he prescribed did not relieve it fully. I have not continued to take them cuz it makes me very tired and disoriented.
Anyone ever experienced a drastic worsening of fm symptoms after a surgery?

Could be the drugs, could be the surgery, could be just that you're still recovering. I had my appendix burst and too many antibiotics ultimately afterwards and that resulted in neuropathology like you're describing (have you ever looked at all the things that can go wrong? http://www.neuropat.dote.hu/nmd.htm) and it was a result of the antibiotics (quinolines) but eventually has gotten much better but I now have trouble with asthma and some other "chronic" stuff to which I was genetically prone but which I think were exacerbated by the antibiotics. It's been 3 years since my surgery, I'd wait at least a year for your body to sort itself out, see if you can't do something with diet/exercise/rest of a non-stressful sort? Nowadays I pretty much imagine anything is possible but know my weight and lack of physical movement is the biggest hurdle I have for any illnesses and they're now at the top of my list to work on.

Hope you get some good information/help with your problems.
