does anyone know how truly tired and sick I am of these stupid meds that wack me out but make me breathe? The hot flashes that go with them and profound sweats? How about the darned sound of mice and rats in my lungs? I am tired of trying to breathe past that point where their noise starts in. Lucky I love rodents to use this analogy huh? I am so tired of just not feeling well. I am hot and soaked to the bone so I strip into something cotton and start cooling and add more layers of cotton until I am finally dressed back for the cold. Then it all starts again. Soaked straight through right now between a breathing treatment and the methylprednisolone but I know I will soon be freezing for a bit once it hits good and then back to hot and well, you know. Funny thing is that I like to breathe. That's even part of what is frustrating here is that if I would just get used to the trouble and see it as normal then I wouldn't have to go through all of the side-effects.

Oh there are so many rants and raves related to this, waking myself up with my breathing nosies. Having dumb docs not hear the wheezing crack snap pop. I can sit here and listen to seltzer fizzing in my lungs, that's the sound.

Having to beg idiot docs for the meds! Yeah, I like to get high on steroids. And inhalers turn me on.

Never getting 100 percent normal even after a treatment and just taking the steroids!!!!!!!! Still noisey as crap.

Oh we can't see anything at all on your X Ray. Yeah, like I said I like to get attention and I love to get high on this stuff. Plus it has an amazing street value don't you know!!!! You mean I don't have lungs? Oh so that's the problem.

Okay, enough griping for now. Thanks.

Wisewoman....do you have asthma?

Your story sounds like my husband who has asthma. After 20 yrs on prednisone and various inhalers, he now is given 2 shots of xolair every 2 weeks and is doing wonderfully.

Just let me know if you do have asthma and have any questions regarding the medication. Take care!

I do have asthma and am unfamiliar with xolair. Are you in the U.S? I will do research on what I can do, thanks for the help.

Yes, I live in the US. I believe the company that makes xolair is Novartis.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. It has literally saved my husbands life!
