The pain wakes me up during the night....it radiates behind my knee down my calf and on the front of my thigh. It is worse when I have to bend it, do stairs, sit, etc. Much better standing on it. It feels like it is right behind the knee cap. OUCH!
Am seeing orthopod tomorrow. I hope I didn't tear anything. Do they give cortisone shots into the knee joint??? Don't want to take the pain pills, but it hurts so badly, don't have a choice. I'd be going to the ER FOR pain relief if I didn't already have it to take. ![]() Ok, enough complaining from me... Okie

Hi there,
The orthopod will probably have to send you for an MRI. I had pain and popping behind my left knee and it was a torn meniscus (easilty corrected through arthroscopic surgery). However, the radiating in the front of the thigh is different. Have patience - they will figure it out. Cortisone injections are normally short lived (3 days to 3 weeks) and aren't usually a permanent solution. But it may be something that some physical therapy will help. Keep us posted! Tranquility

Hi Tranquility,
You are exactly right! I have to make an appt. for a MRI. X-rays showed normal bony formation which was good. I knew it wasn't my bones. Next stop -- MRI! Thanks for your kind words. Okie

Okie, when they do the MRI, make sure you have your leg in a comfortable position before they start. They will place foam blocks to keep it from moving. Make absolutely sure you are as comfortable as can be before they start.
Let us know what you learn. Hugs, Jan
